Yes, I pay attention to my protein intake.  And, whenever I do sport, I use my ammonia detox supplements:  L-carnitine, L-ornithine, magnesium malate, and L-citrulline.

Hi Quantum!

Do you still take L-ornithine regularly? What is the dose you use? I tried to incorporate it into my daily regime, but for some reason I get a really troublesome side-effect. I got 700 mg capsules and even if I pour the powder in water this would still appear. About 6 hours after intake some kind of temporary and moderately strong constrictive feeling would occur around the heart, which is kind of scary. Have you not felt anything such? Barely perceptibly, but I can still feel it when I only take half the capsule (350 mg).

Morning all.

I have noticed in the past year that my recovery time has reduced from 3 months to around 2 weeks. I have changed my diet slightly but the only other thing that I've had in my body are 3 covid shots. Not proud of it to be honest but has made me think.

Could this be a reason why?
Would love to hear other people's experiences  with recovery after their shots if any.

Neil

Could you specify which type of shots you got? I got two Sputnik shots when the epidemic was new. At both times I got a moderate POIS relief on the same day, but no lasting effects whatsoever. I wonder if another kind of shot would have a different effect. At least I no longer have any worries about covid. I get reinfected regularly as everyone else, but it is no longer worse than any regular cold, so a vaccine for me feels futile even if I have an autoimmune disease.

Recently I have done a one day trial on racecadotril/acetorphan [3 x 100 mg], which is an antidiarrheal medication with similarities to loperamide. I can’t say that either one had a profound effect on my POIS, however both could apparently alleviate my muscle pain/fatigue to some degree. In my opinion this is quite significant as there are only a very few things that managed to do this. Loperamide is a peripherally acting mu-opioid receptor agonist, while racecadotril is an enkephalinase inhibitor that has a preference to the delta-opioid subtype. Later I am going to try to combine the two to see if that works any better, though of course my aim is not get constipated, but rather to alleviate the disabling pain. These are not supposed to be taken continuously for more than a week probably due to dependence. Even so they may be used sporadically to treat some of the pain associated to POIS episodes. Of course I would rather try low dose naltrexone (LDN), if only that was available around here.

Some links to check out in this regard:

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6693899/

A lower dose of tramadol may be needed when you combine it with CBD:
Cannabidiol is an allosteric modulator at mu- and delta-opioid receptors

Thank you for this suggestion! If the racecadotril/loperamide combo does not work adequately then I will try to add some CBD as well.

Opioids like oxycodone 100% block all my POIS symptoms. Kratom on the other hand does not.

I wonder if oxycodone has a stronger effect on the delta-opioid subtype. Could this be one of the reason why it works better than Kratom?

Recovery has now reduced even more with a 5 day baseline....ive added quite a few anti inflammatory supplements to my diet which I'm thinking is the main cause after O

I've noticed a significant improvement in my food sensitivities, mood, and POIS since increasing vitamin D3 through direct sunlight.

Not sure how long this will last, but it seems to be more effective than what I used to experience with supplementation alone.

Of course I am not surprised that I am feeling better with D3 as I've documented that countless times in the past. It has been a pivotal part of my protocol for quite some time now.

I am surprised I seem to be getting better results through direct sunlight as opposed to supplementation (even when supplementation was supposedly working and I had super high serum levels to prove it).

The reason may be that sunshine also lowers cholesterol at the same time, so it is kind of a 2 in 1 remedy.

Additionally there may be a psychological component, which could affect your mood and by a biofeedback loop maybe your physiology as well. Being outdoors provides a lot of fresh air, which also seems to help with POIS.
I really hate the ocular photophobia, which often makes it excruciatingly painful to go outside. A few years ago I regularly had to do intense physical work under the blazing sun. Interestingly a few hours into my job I would often experience a reduction in ocular photosensitivity. This may have been a combined benefit of sunshine, fresh air and exercise. However by the time I used to finish my work exercise intolerance symptoms would dominate and the next morning would start out the usual awful way. So I have to question the practical applicability.

Edit 18/3/25: Fixing D3 via sun also fixed droopy eyes. Before was definitely D3 deficient though, so I think it simply fixed the droopy eyes, mood etc by sheer fact of elevating D3. Low D3 gave me droopy eyes and poor mood.

Are there any other guys who tried castration with succes?
Is it still impossible to get the procedure done in a western hospital ?

but you weren't cured of pois dots as you said in 2022? are you crazy, I mean if it were possible you would want to castrate yourself?

Interesting video on D3 supplements vs natural sunlight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ul-hYTaQ4I

From this point onwards, I rely 100% on direct sunlight exposure for increasing and maintaining optimal D3 levels for POIS.

General POIS Discussions / Re: 100% cured. TCM rocks.

I went to the TCM hospital and get this. Take after the POIS symtoms occrued. Truly rocks.

It is probably best to provide an English translation as well (e.g. by google lens). Anyway this is the ingredient list of Vitality Su Oral Liquid: Polygonum multiflorum (Fo-Ti), Epimedium (Horny goat weed), Polygonatum sibiricum [processed], Lycium barbarum (Goji berry/wolfberry), Astragalus, Salvia miltiorrhiza (Danshen).

This appears to be an interesting combination. I have already tried all of these individually with the exception of Polygonatum sibiricum. Most of them were beneficial to some degree. I suspect Epimedium to be the most active ingredient as it may provide the most immediate benefit. I also found Horny goat weed to be quite useful recently. Icariin, found in Epimedium, is a PDE5 inhibitor similarly to tadalafil (Cialis) and sildenafil citrate (Viagra) that some POISers had success with. Some of us also found Goji berries to be quite useful. It is a good source of quercetin that was extensively discussed on the forum. I have taken it for a year without seeing much benefit though. This doesn’t mean that it is not useful, just that the benefit is not so apparent. I am just over a box of Astragalus that seemed to be a little beneficial in the beginning, but no so much later. I only took a low daily dose, so a higher dose may be yet useful. I drank Danshen tea a few times and I got a bad inflammation around the liver due to it. I think the dose I used was too high, but one should be careful as it may be harmful for the liver. It may have long term benefits, but that should only occur after a few months. I could not see any immediate benefit with Fo-Ti either, but it may help with a graying hair-line and I may take this more often in the future as my hair is turning gray nowadays. Polygonatum sibiricum probably has similar benefits as Polygonum multiflorum, though it may have some unique compounds. Resveratrol is probably found in both. I found that to be very useful in the beginning, however resveratrol lost most of its benefit soon and even after 1.5 years of continuous taking there is no long term improvement regrettably.

Nevertheless I hope you will keep having success with this formula or any of the ingredients and maybe even achieve some long term improvement! Keep us updated!
