hi, i have POIS for as long as i can remember, before 17, symptoms was pretty mild but can last 2+weeks which include thinner skin and face, decreased cognitive and fatigue. Then not long after I turned 17, i got depression and anxiety, after that, the mental problems of POIS intensified, my depression and anxiety got worse during POIS and it only starts to get better after 2 weeks to 2 months of abstinence depending whether i have sex or masturbate, masturbate causes far worse symptoms and longer recovery in my case.
i am going to try Xolair in maybe a few days or weeks, have any of you guys tried it????can you share with me your symptoms, duration and effects of xolair?

many thanks

Poll Center / Re: Which symptom cluster are you in?

My POIS fits into cluster 1 the most, but it does not perfectly fit into his criteria. I wonder how clearly POIS clusters can actually be defined, or if each individualised POIS case is too complex and nuanced to be perfectly categorised. I suspect the latter is more likely. We can probably only identify and distinguish clusters to a certain degree. Or perhaps we have not pulled apart, tested, and identified each cluster to it's full extent yet. Most people do not do enough comprehensive testing, medical/scientific and anecdotal/intuitive.

To perfectly describe my cluster:

- Symptoms: social anxiety, fatigue, body aches, frequent urination, nervous system activation, brain fog, inflammed back. No "flu" like symptoms, no runny nose, etc. Food sensisitivity & possible minor exercise sensitivity intertwined that illicit POIS symptoms.
- Responds to methylation & B complex vitamins
- Responds to animal-based/keto/carnivore diet (removing starch)
- Responds to cordyceps, raw garlic, fenugreek, caffeine, zinc, and magnesium
- Responds to D3
- Responds to red meat, eggs, & Greek yoghurt
- Likely Candida/fungal/bacterial overgrowth based on OAT (organic acids test)
- Low neutrophils

Some symptoms not covered on this page:

Panic, heightened nervous system, feelings of being on edge, body aches, frequent urination (non emotional, purely physical urge to urinate often), social anxiety, & overthinking.

Have you tried anything to relieve the issues? Mine also started in puberty when I first started to ejaculate and much of my life after that was like a combination of not knowing what POIS was with compounding trauma and likely genetic defects leading to a vulnerability to neuro-immune conditions and general abnormalities feeding into everything else in an endless loop I didn't know enough about to pick apart (nor did I have the resources money or information wise, this was when the internet was still in it's dial-up days). I don't have any issues with sexual fluid itself mentally, I just take a shower after. Was essentially stuck in a perpetual state state of neurological agony and horrible situation with no way out and only began to start trying supplements and chipping away at things in my 20's.

In the research section of the site there is a noradrenaline topic that I'm currently looking into in regards to the entire catecholamine conversion system. My initial thoughts were that we have a problem where noradrenaline or adrenaline itself is getting stuck on high and feeding into a broken loop that is very difficult to get out of and will cause long term multi-system problems in the body downstream like contribute to immune dysfunction which many of us are also likely prone to which has ties to the nervous system in many ways anyways. I have some things in mind that I want to try that I'm brainstorming based on my years already of trying to dissect this condition. But I'm trying to take it easy because excitement also makes me more prone to POIS and alone if extreme enough can mimic POIS anyways and this effect will amplify in POIS states where excitement will make all symptoms worse and the symptoms will make the reaction worse in a feedback loop. Right now it's under control but I found since I started working a lot today on this that the fast paced work and excitement itself is making symptoms push through which is really interesting though under current conditions in a much more controlled fashion due to what I'm currently trying. It doesn't help that I need to work at my job anyways where often during the week I'm really only able to take notes and try things in very controlled bursts but I'm on break this week so a lot that I have on hold when it comes to really digging into this general bubble of topics gets crammed into a small window of time where it feels like it becomes my job and triggers the problems itself. lol

i have major depressive disorder since 6 months: anxiety mixed with depressive feelings all day long.; No idea if POIS was the original trigger or just the political and meteorological climate

If you have MDD, it makes eligible to take levomilnacprin or milnacipran. Ask your doctor about it.

it doesn't sound very professional, to be honest: computers witout OS, tubes missing, ....

I did research in university before and I share your sentiment. I hope they don't disappoint, but I won't get my hopes up.

@curehunter, you still poisfree these days?

Yes, I'm still 100% POIS free using levomilnacipran, ibuprofen, and Allegra before O. I O'ed last night and my body cannot tell if I had O'ed or not.

I have the next 4 days off from work so I will sacrifice for the sake of science and try O'ing without levomilnacipran (only with ibuprofen and allegra). I'll keep you updated.
