Any opinions on Chinese Skullcap?
« on: November 24, 2022, 06:45:22 AM »
Hello, has anyone tried Chinese Skullcap (Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi)> It is part of the 50 fundamental herbs of Traditional Chinese Medicine, has been extensively used in the several East Asian countries to treat pyrexia, micturition disorder and inflammation. Supposedly it suppresses abnormal androgen events in prostate tissue and inhibits the development of BPH by targeting inflammation- and apoptosis-related markers. It has 5a-reductase inhibitory properties.

I have overactive adrenals and I use it for stress but it's too soon to say how it works on my POIS-related anxiety.
For me POIS is very related to my adrenals. I get dizzy after eating, esp. something carby or/and protein-heavy. This is worse after I have had O, which shows that my POIS is related to adrenal or/and kidney issues. I just took Chinese Skullcap and a Valerian root and the dizziness after my recent meal dissipated.

I have high DHEA and high T levels, so it's possible POIS for some people like me is caused by adrenal issues. I don't say fatigue as I am wired and tired and Ashwaganda not only didn't help me, it made things worse. It ruined my life and made my POIS and anxiety worse and made me go hyperthyroid.
