An update on my attempt from your success, John. I bought the mastic gum Monday at Vitamin Shoppe (due to delayed shipping on Amazon's part and my impatience).  It's been 3 days taking 500mg 3 times daily 30 minutes before meals.  You were right - the cramping/knots are real. This supplement is noticeably interacting with my stomach and intestines.   The feedback, while negatively feeling, is a positive sign that change could be taking place. However, from your timeline, it's far to early to confirm if the supplement is actually benefiting my body. The other supplements I'm taking as well, and have in the past (all except the mastic gum). These aren't and haven't provided any physical feedback. Perhaps they can support the mastic gum though. So just an update from your protocol.  Thanks

I sure hope it works for you.

I started using mastic gum about a week ago, but just taking two capsules per day in the morning so far. Which makes for 1000mg total of mastic gum (it says 1000mg contains 350mg of mastic acids and masticoresin). When you say 400mg, are you referring to the raw amounts, or the percent extract?

  • Use Adaptogens and Antioxidants, they can help.

... given that it's also supposed to help with dental hygiene, I wonder how chewing vs capsules would change anything (mouth and gut are connected)

Seems like it is the raw amount, here is the page for the brand I used. It says for occasional use only and recommends taking on an empty stomach 1 - 3 times per day and not using past 2 weeks without consulting a physician.  I don't think I took it on an empty stomach very often but it is probably a good idea.

Maybe. I did chew mine on occasion after I learned that some people chew it. Here is a company that sells lots of types of mastic gum products, it mentiones chewing it.

I also had success with ACV 2 times now, 0 symptoms after NE, 100% energy boost, I really believe it could be a gut problem for me too.
Recently I tried to dilute it with water and the effect kind of stopped working, I ordered some ACV pills and I'm gonna try again to see if it really does something to me or it's only in my head.

Acid Cidar Vinegar you mean? If that works for you it could be an indicator that your suffer from SIBO (see Google).

IMHO I dont think Vinegar working indicates SIBO (though maybe I am missing something?), though I certainly see it as beneficial to POIS.  It can improve your nutritional uptake as I think our cells are starving even though we eat plenty.  That said, I am unable to consume Vinegar, I get a severe allergy which I attribute to histamine intolerance, sister to our Mast cell issues.

Apple Cider Vinegar, yes. I personally believe it can't be a coincidence since it worked for me more than twice so far.

I take one pill 30mins before each meal everyday, I can already see signs of improvement in terms of symptoms, I am also assuming it's probably SIBO, I will follow this little guide I found here: https://cutt.ly/fnUOKo9

I also bought coconut oil, oregano oil, garlic and fenugreek, positive effects from all of them so far.

My current diet is a complete mess, I need to reorganize myself and stick to something more healthy.

None of the Iranian doctors know anything about POIS.

Sadly, this is the case with doctors worldwide!

Some aspects to point out, so you can use it for your research (and not medical advice).  It does help if you can be structured in your posts/symptoms:
a) Ejaculation helps your Pois.  About how long that helpful effect lasts?  You did not mention what triggers your Pois then?
b) You had low Testosterone (I presume), treated with Letrozole (anti-estrogen)
b) HCG (to increase hormones - LH/FSH/Thyroid stimulating)
c) Anti-histamine
d) Azithromycin
I do think your doctor is smarter than docs here in US :)

Can you share:
a) Thyroid panel markers
b) CBC blood counts
c) Iron panel
d) Hba1c, Fasting glucose, Post-prandial profile.
e) Typical waking up Temperature (when not sick)
f) Typical blood pressure.

First I checked my hormones and the t level was low

Started taking mastic gum about a week ago, seems to be doing something. "O"d this morning, symptoms are greatly reduced, but gonna see over next few days if gets worse. Been taking other stuff for past few months and they help a bit: Omega 3, Curcurmin, Probiotics, and Quercetin. Oh, when i say this morning, i mean 12 hours ago.

Ah, as I mentioned earlier, these tests are vital, I believe before anything you can do:

"Can you share:
a) Thyroid panel markers
b) CBC blood counts
c) Iron panel
d) Hba1c, Fasting glucose, Post-prandial profile.
e) Typical waking up Temperature (when not sick)
f) Typical blood pressure."
optional: nice to have: Lipid panel.

If you need to, I will talk to you through WhatsApp Live with a translator 😊

These are just some tips, I use and find necessary (but each person is different):

Step 1: Create data - a spreadsheet with your biomarkers in it.  (tip: don't ever post personal info).  This is your anonymized trend data, that you can use yourself to better understand your condition, as well share it  to gain assistance from others, and thus expanding your understanding - your key end goal.  Without data, you are blind.
Step 2:  Create structure - the mere act of asking a structured question (irrespective of whether you get answer), turns on certain brain pathways, that can go a long ways, in making kick ass breakthroughs.
Step 3:  Maybe create a one thread of yours.  Copy-paste your "anonymized" info from spreadsheet.  I am willing to keep eye on it and offer what I have learnt and my experiences.  In past I have been tardy, but now getting better.
Step 4:  The whole forum is a gem, just a one thread:  https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2338.msg19448#msg19448
Step 5:  Just to remember, anything you learn here is not medical advice, but merely 'tools' to empower yourself, research and expand your knowledge.  End goal being: instead of being lead by your docs, to lead them by being informed yourself.

Hey guys, been following this thread and decided to start amoxicillin (similar to azithromycin) and currently halfway through it.
I'm also loading up with lots of probiotics - tablets, milk kefir, water kefir and kimchi. On top of that I'm doing a low fodmap diet and have now ordered mastic gum.

A few questions:

1) Is there any issue with adding probiotics during the antibiotics period? Antiobiotics are killing the bacteria and probiotics are adding good bacteria to the gut. Will the antibiotics have "more to kill" by adding lots of probiotics, or how should this be understood?

2) Is there any issue with O'ing during this period, will this reset the progress or.. what do you guys think?

Thanks a lot in advance.

That is great to hear, and gives me much hope as well.  Thank you for taking the time to hop back on the forum with an update, even though you are feeling better  :)

Do you still take mastic, probiotics, or turkey tail?  Or are you done with all of the supplements?
