Very sad news! ...I could not believe it.... at 64!....He made it possible for this disease of ours to begin to be known in the scientific world. I join in the condolences for his family and friends. I think it's an important loss for all of us....

Sad to read this.
Rest in peace dear M Waldinger.
I remember my first contact with you : just a short email explaining to me my symptoms may be Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome in 2005.

For the first time you and another french sexologist put A NAME on my disease. A NAME.
It could sound few thing but giving A NAME to my problem changed everything. And it was the starting point of our POIS adventure on the internet in 2007.

After, we have use your name, your scientific knowledge and your notoriety to convince other doctors Pois was real and not all in our head.

Thanks a lot Marcel Waldinger.
If a day a member of his family or a friend read this, I can promise you that dr Waldinger was a huge hope, like a lighthouse in our night.

RIP to a man that has touched not only our lives but those of millions that would have otherwise just have been shunned by the medical profession and general public.  Thank you for everything.

A few Dutch doctors spoke with each other about how to deal with POIS after prof. Waldingers death. There is a doctor who started a men’s clinic. His name is De Boer. He said that POIS-patients from The Netherlands can visit him. But he is just familiar with POIS, he does not have the solution. Website:

POIS since 2000. Very bad since 2008. I knew that I have POIS since June 2010. Desensitization since March 2011. I stopped with desens in July 2016. I have 50% less POIS. And only 1 day of POIS. Purified CBD works for me, but I am allergic for CBD.

I will talk with my POIS-doctor about him. You know that in The Netherlands you have to be sended by a family doctor or a specialist. My family doctor retired. My new one blames all my problems to mental problems (POiS like symptoms, IGM to low). So I do not want to mention POIS to this new family doctor. My POIS-doctor can write a note to visit him. First I will go to an immunologist next month and after that I will see my POIS-doctor.

Are you going?
