Success with Olive Leaf Extract
« on: December 26, 2012, 01:25:52 PM »
*** update 5/24/17...  I don't have problems with O anymore because of my diet.  OLE I use sparingly whenever I eat something bad or I need to sleep.  I'd suggest buying SPRING VALLEY OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT.  This is the brand that helped me.

*** update OLE relieves symptoms greatly.  I only advise to keep O's to a minimum.  I try to do one now.  Not sure how many OS you can do without developing POIS.

Hey guys, I know that we said we should wait 2 weeks or so to say if a treatment worked, but I guess since this treatment is already listed on the "summary of treatments" I decided to post a little bit early on my experience with olive leaf.

I bought Olive Leaf Extract last Friday and decided to try it out mainly because of its usage for POIS, and I also have warts on my fingers that another member said OLE helps in getting rid of.  I was in a non-pois state when I first tried it.  The recommended dosage on the bottle that I got from wal-mart (spring valley) was 1 pill a day, or 150 mg (contains 20%/30mg oleuropein), for health maintenance.  But after doing some research I decided to take more because this herb was very safe on the body after researchers failed to find a toxic dosage, and also looking at the dosages that others were taking.

That Friday night I tried it and I took 5 pills of it.  The first thing I noticed was a very stiff and sore upper neck and some pain in my spine, as if some bacteria or something was being killed, and I also felt like my body was being detoxified, so I obviously didn't feel "too" good, but definitely not as bad as POIS.  But that night I slept terrifically... and by terrifically i mean that I only get that good quality sleep while having POIS at most 5 times a year.

The following day I took about 3 pills, the same story, slept great, sore neck that went away a few hours after the dosage, and not a gernerally "great" feeling, but a feeling like your body is being detoxified, didn't feel too "up" mentally, but still slept well.

The following day I took 2 pills, didn't really notice the sore neck at all.  Again, the general not too good detox feeling.  Slept well.

On Monday I had the same feeling as Sunday except I didn't sleep too great.  I believe this was because I played basketball late in the day and my heart was still beating fast as I tried to go to sleep.

On Tuesday I took 1 pill at around 8pm and decided to O.  After the O I took another pill.  I didn't feel POIS so I decided to O 4 more times.  Generally this amount would kill me mentally but I felt great overall.  I took 3 more pills of OLE and went to bed.  I slept very well.

Today I woke up and felt terrific, no noticeable POIS.  The only thing I noticed last night was a very slight headache, but it went away within an hour or two of my last O.  This can also be attributed to the Olive Leaf Extract.

So so far this treatment has been working very well for me.  I will update if it turns out not to work, or if it turns out to be just a fluke that'll work only one time.  But so far so good.

**** treatment updated, look at biography

This is what I used.  Obviously don't get your hopes up too high, our bodies are all different so I can't really say anything.  It has just been working for me.

But you know for only $6 and being what I understand harmless, its probably worth a try.

BTW I still feel really excited and actually happy that I might have found something that works.  So far it works way better than niacin and antihistamines that I have tried, like I don't feel bad at all.  I'm hoping it continues.

Thanks for the replies. I'll pick some up tomorrow.

Question, what kind of symptoms do you get after O usually?

For me, it's brain fog, depression, and body ache. I'm hoping the brain fog and depression go away... that's all I care about. It's killing me at the moment, pushing me to the edge of a cliff almost.

Mine is mostly all cognitive.  As soon as I "O" I would definitely feel an imbalance and it drives me nuts, like my brain was inflammed or something.  Just so many symptoms, add to that a headache, like I couldn't imagine a worse feeling.  It took a couple of days for me not to feel "irritated" and imbalanced.

Just to remind anybody that if you do take, you should probably take it at night.  The detoxifying symptoms make you feel kind of sick.

It's interesting you mention this as a girl I am dating now got sick and told me about her friend's Olive Leaf Extract remedy, which is exactly how you took it.  She said it helped her recover from a cold.

I was intrigued and looked into the mechanism of action.  In short, it does something very similar to pseudophedrine (Sudafed) which I find quite cool!
Turmeric and Rosemary 30-45 minutes before orgasm for anti-inflammatory and immune support has helped me a lot. Faster and easier than niacin approach.

It's also an anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic, anti-candida, etc.  Also lowers cytokines in response to allergies.  I really don't know what part of it is helping me.

I'll be back on this site after my next O, that's when I usually go back on.

I take this fish oil that's part olive oil, part fish oil, part lemon oil. It's nice in that it doesn't give the rancid taste of other fish oils and has vitamin D also. Olive oil actually encourages the body to produce its own diamine oxidase which deaminiates histamine in the gut.

I really want to see others reactions to OLE.  I feel it is really working.

I "O'd" twice recently and I only took 1 150mg pill.  Still don't have any pois.  OLE also took away my constant dull headache that I used to have all the time.  I feel that this is something special.  Again I'd like to hear from others who have tried this herb.

The pain in my upper neck area has gone away, the pain that I used to get after taking this herb, I no longer notice it now.

In conclusion, you take 1 pill each day, independently  you have an orgasm or not.
And each pill of 150mg contains 30mg of olereupein.

I would like to try. But I found it olereupein may influence noradrenaline/adrenaline secretion. This is not a good point for me.

Well, I started off at heavier doses, but then I continued to take 1 pill at night, or more so when I had an "O".  Right now I don't take any of it;  Last Friday was the last dosage of OLE that I took.  When I took it I don't think I noticed an "adrenal" response but I definitely didn't feel well, like it kind of made me feel sick, and kind of down mentally... definitely just the detox symptoms...doesn't come close to POIS.

I'm still feeling good, the only thing that is bothering me is sleep.  I'm going to "O" one of these days, this weekend or so, without supplementing with OLE and let you guys know the outcome.

Any details on anybody's trials yet?  Prancer? Suppertime?

So caution would be required when taking it with Blood Pressure control medicines.

That's the problem with trying stuff and recommending them to others, especially with seemingly innocent herbal extracts.

It's good that we can share possible helpful hints to make life more livable for us POIS sufferers, but let's make an effort to look into what we are ingesting, particularly if we are recommending it to the group. Look up it's potential side effects, dangers.

And everybody. Don't just jump all over something without checking it out or being assured that it is safe.

We are anxious, desperate for relief. But we really don't want someone to die or be seriously injured as a result of a test. That's not anybody's aim here.

LAPOISSE, thanks for the heads up.

WITHOUT RESEARCH THERE WILL BE NO CURE!
Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!

My update on Olive Leaf Extract:

Ok, so as I stated, OLE is helping me better than anything I have tried thus far (claritin, benadryl, niacin, cranberry juice(lol who remembers that?)).  While using it and "O'ing" I can say I have no recognizable symptoms.  Than after stopping the OLE and having orgasms 3 or 4 days later without taking another pill, I had 3 NON-POIS orgasms.  However, after waiting about 10 days from my last pill of OLE, I "O'd" another 3 times, and this time I had bad POIS symptoms.  So my belief is that the OLE stays in my system for a couple of days before it is no longer in my system any more and than I would have symptoms if I O'd.  As of now I can say that OLE is not a cure, but a very effective remedy.  And if one decides to take OLE, than I would recommend taking it only on the days you orgasm, about an hour or so before orgasm.  What I found that relieved me was taking 300 mg, or two pills of OLE about an hour or so before orgasm.  It is possible that 150 mg will help but I decided to take 2 pills just in case.  BTW I just had update: 7 non-pois orgasms after taking two pills of OLE.   :o

edit:  For purposes of dosage I can say I weigh about 155 pounds

And obviously before you try anything you should look it up on your own and do your own research before deciding if it is right for you

I've been taking one to two 500mg OLE capsules. And masturbating to the point of reaching climax, but completely stopping. This would give me POIS but not completely, perhaps about 50% POIS.

So far, I'm still getting minor POIS. I am getting brain fog and of course not feeling AMAZING like I do when I get hypomanic. I still forget words, lose concentration, and become completely restless sometimes. I've been only taking it for a few days... so I'll continue for the week and report back.
