Important and informative forum posts you want to read first
« on: March 31, 2021, 01:25:30 PM »
The POISCenter forum was created in 2011, so after all those years, many posts have been created, on the many boards. It may feel confusing and overwhelming at first, as to where to look for more important information.

Here are links to important and very informative posts that you will want to read first :

1. Chart of POIS Types and Their Possible Relief Methods : different methods members use to relieve their symptoms are listed here, and are used to classify POIS in different types. You will surely be interested to know about this collection of success stories. All of the methods listed in the table have stood the test of time - they have proven to be effective over the long term, i.e. for 3 months or more. To date, no single method is efficient for all POIS sufferers. So this chart can be used to slowly and safely try different methods for yourself ( we strongly advise doing this under the supervision of a health professional, to at least see if any method could interfere with a pre-existing condition you have or a medication you take ) https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2338.msg19448#msg19448

2. POIS Papers Archive - a list of scientific articles about POIS : This very complete list has been created and is updated by member Muon. They are classified by year of publication. It is the most complete list of scientific POIS articles in the world! You can surely share this link with any health professional if he wants to know what POIS is : https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=3127.msg31515#msg31515

3. POIS Doctors list : a worldwide list of doctors and specialists who knows about POIS, and even published research articles about POIS, and are accepting consultation for POIS patients. However, read carefully the warning at the top of the list:  there is no definite treatment yet for POIS, so any experimental treatment is accepted at your own risk.  See the list at https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2575.msg22338#msg22338

4. "What is POIS" Board the 5 topics pinned at the top of this board will give you basic information about what POIS is and what are POIS symptoms: https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?board=24.0 .  Those five posts are :
  • Listing of Possible POIS Symptoms - Are Your Symptoms possibly linked to POIS ?
  • Dr Waldinger 5 Preliminary Diagnostic Criteria for POIS
  • Video explaining POIS in 6 minutes
  • What is POIS - another good video
  • POIS Wikipedia Article (available in several languages)
5. Medical results of members :  blood works, genomics, and other tests, and discussion about these results.
Thread with results only ( no discussion): https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2684.0

Thread where results are discussed: https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2695.0

6. Welcome post by Demografx :  you will find here a lot of interesting internet links, like links to mentions of POIS on health organizations websites, links to magazine articles about POIS, and other POIS resources on the net: https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=1.msg1#msg1

7. POIS summaries and histories:  a thread created many years ago, that contains many detailed POIS stories from members. Very informative, even if, with time, many discussions have been inserted in-between those descriptions of personal POIS experience: https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=81.0

8. Member Nanna1 very scientific and detailed threads , along with his own solution for POIS relief, in the form of a supplement stack.
Original supplements stack :  https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2502.msg21497#msg21497

Immune Competence Therapy stack: https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=3151.msg31889#msg31893

 9. What to expect from an appointment about POIS with a physician or specialist   ( POIS scientific articles to show to the MD and what to expect from 1st consultation: https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2392.msg20182#msg20182 ).   You will find there an article suggestion at the top, and in the bottom part - see red title - you will find comments about what to expect from 1st consultation for POIS. These few comments could save you a lot of disappointment, by making your expectations realistic.

10. Other specific topics that may be of great interest:Of course, there are many, many more interesting posts on the forum, but this list will help you get started.

From there, you can then use the search functions to find what you are looking for on the forum.  There is a post on this Newcomers board, to help you search efficiently, at https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=3776.0
And, of course, do not hesitate to post your questions directly on the forum, and receive comments and answers from your fellow members!
