Hey Gino,

hope you are doing great! I also tried this method since Tuesday and my symptoms went pretty down. I only have like 10-20% of my Symptoms. I wanted to ask you something about sleep. I usually try to sleep as much as possible, so my body gets a lot of rest, but you wrote that sleeping too much is pretty bad for you. Can you explain how much sleep you try to get after O.
I am also trying to test the limit but I am kind of scared to do so, therefore I wanted to ask if you could tell me if there is no such thing as limit with this method? Like if you use Niacin for the day and drink Matcha maybe 1-2 times you are completely fine or are you sometimes still exhausted the days after?

Happy to hear you also have some success.

To clarify, the way I use this method is as a ‘pre-pack’, taken in the hours before O.

The effectiveness for me can be 95%. The remaining 5% feels more like a reminder in my nervous system that POIS is hiding somewhere but is not active.

When my pre pack is effective, I don’t need anything other than some caffeine and Vitamin C in the hours after O or the following days as I won’t have any significant symptoms.

For a few days I might feel slightly less energetic and my nervous system feels a little tighter than usual, but it doesn’t prevent me from working or sports. I would take coffee and maybe matcha to get my energy levels back up.

Regarding sleep, when this method is effective for me, my sleep is mostly normal. Of course, if my O is at night it feels normal to go to sleep at that time.

Also, if my O is in the morning then I feel very motivated to straight away get up and get my other things done like work or chores. It’s the opposite feeling compared to POIS because my state of mind and body are relaxed and satisfied and I don’t want to waste the rest of the day while I feel so good.

However if I didn’t prepare by taking the prepack, my full POIS state after O is horrible, including trying to sleep - i feel like I’m trapped in a fatigued but sleepless nightmare for days. It’s very difficult to achieve a deep sleep even though I’m desperately tired. All my senses become super irritable (light, sound, smell, temperature..).

Regarding limits, I’m not sure exactly what you are asking. I interpret this as a question about the total effectiveness across the next few days. I may have answered that in my previous paragraph. I won’t take niacinamide (B3) in the period after O. I would take additional caffeine like coffee and matcha for staying fully alert. I also increase my vitamin C supplements to prevent cold sores.

When I said limits, I meant like how many times a day you can have an O. with the same prepack.

Moreover I was asking myself how you manage to have O. in the morning. Like to you take vitamine b3 the day before or when you wake up? I kind of struggle with spontaneous O. For example before sleeping I don't know when I should decide to take the Niacin. Do you just take it when you feel like it or is it like planned?

Hi Bambus.

I hope you have found some things that worked for you while I was away. In reply to your questions:

1. Question: 'how many times a day can you have an O. with the same prepack'
 Answer: A few times in the same evening, however I took another dose of matcha within say each hour to keep its levels high.
However I would not have taken more than 500 mg of Nicacinamide B3 within 24 hours and also not take it regularly.
This is because I read: "at high doses of 500 mg/day or more, nicotinamide can cause diarrhea and easy bruising and can increase bleeding from wounds. Even higher doses of 3,000 mg/day or more can cause nausea, vomiting, and liver damage." Source: https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Niacin-Consumer/

Furthermore, within a few minutes after O it's apparent it the prepack has worked or failed. If it has worked, I feel great - my mind is clear and energized and and my body including my muscles and joints are relaxed. I sometimes feel ready to go again very soon after. If it hasn't worked, there is a reduced scale of how bad my POIS could be. Milder end of the scale is an awareness of my POIS symptoms for a couple of days but I can still go to work and exercise. The strong end of the scale is that I'll experience up to 50% of my worst POIS symptoms compared to if I didn't take any pre-pack and it can be difficult to work and exercise effectively.

2. Question: 'how you manage to have O. in the morning. Like to you take vitamine b3 the day before or when you wake up? I kind of struggle with spontaneous O.'
Answer: Firstly I believe you're asking three questions, which I'll address as: 2a. Planned O in the morning; 2b. Spontaneous situations; 2c. Unplanned O/NE.

Question 2a: Planned O in the morning
Answer: I don't often make plans the night before to O in the morning, but when so I have taken niacinamide B3 500 mg before I sleep and then taken matcha in the morning 30 mins before O.

Question 2b: Spontaneous situations
Answer: If I'm in a spontaneous morning situation with my partner yet I didn't take the niacinamide B3 500 mg the night before, then I would still take it at that time (with matcha) do my best to allow at least an hour for it to be effective. I'm aware that this can take some of the fun/spontaneity away from the situation but however an understanding partner will know the delay will be worth their while and that they can enjoy other things before the hour has passed.

Question 2c: Unplanned O/ Night Emission (NE)
Answer: I don't have experience with that situation personally. I hope someone else with this experience could post a suggestion here to help.

Ah, I see there is a whole thread about matcha powder tea. Great!
I have not drank it before O but even afterwards drinking it instead of coffee I got improvement.
Looking back, I drink green tea instead of the powder one in the evenings (a couple hours before O) as that does not cause problems with falling asleep.
