Intrusive "seizure" Anyone else? Suggestions?
« on: March 06, 2020, 08:05:11 PM »
Hey there. Sorry for such messed up title (english's not my first language). Does anybody experience impulsive feeling of shaking during pois state from time to time?
Sometimes when I experience blunt pain in head during pois episode It can develop into intursive impulse in my body to shake the shite out of it. It's quite controllable (except some random tremors) though these impulses annoingly remain untill I lay somewhere and shake my whole body for some time. It's always affect my mood as well (though it's usually shitty from the very moment of blunt head pain here it comes on a new level:D) Oh yeah, physical weakness accurately arrives along with my "shakies" as well.
Those.. shakes/seizures? idk.. made me think about epilepsy. Maybe something sinilar to the processes in the brain that start epilzepsy seizure causes mine problem as well? For the last few years I have really big problems with concentration and usually feel impulse to wake up and walk (when my pois at least allows me to stay on the ground solidly). So I guess my dopamine/serotonin balance not doing well.
Does anybody expericene something like that? Have you figured out what's the root cause or how to cope? ???

Hi

I think this might interest you: https://traumaprevention.com

T.R.E. a stress relieve technique, based on provoking actively tremors so that the body can release emotional toxines in the psoas muscle.
According to the theory, the shaking is beneficial for your health: so certainly don't try to control them!

I experience mild tremors immediately after orgasm too, there must be a link to the POIS mechanism...

Probably not such a good thing for a healthy organism although in a state like pois may be the lesser evil. Emotional toxines lowkey sounds not so legit tbh. Anyways thank you for your input. Hope there will be solution one day ;)

May be that's it. I've experienced improvements with my brain fog and fatigue on fodmap diet for a last month. Although this temporary issue didn't really change. At least for now. Thank you for info!

Yes, I used to experience some sort of "seizures" when I had POIS.
What happened to me, is I fall down, out of control... and sort of go into a half-conscious state, and my body sort of shivers.  That used to happen to me, not frequently at all... but only in the very worst episodes. It would last less than a minute. And I'd be able to get up again.

I know it sounds crazy, this seizures thing. But I wanted to speak out my support for your symptom experience... because POIS sometimes has some crazy symptoms and effects. I used to be afraid to tell people all the weird symptoms that I got.
It is a very very complex illness I think.
But to answer your question:
My seizures-- I had less than 10 in 5 years perhaps...
they were triggered when I had a sudden rush of blood to my head, or something...
they sometimes happened when I did a Big Stretch with my arms, or when I suddenly got up from sitting for a long time.

Seizures are a neurological event, as far as I know. They concern the nerves, which run through the spine, and the base of the brain stem... it's a neurological dysfunction. I also found I was having a lot lot of Back and Neck Pain during that time... and my spine was hurting a lot!

Another interesting link to what you're mentioning might be the following:
my first diagnosis was bipolar disorder: once one has had over 3 depressive episodes and one hypomanic, he is classified as bipolar.  I don't think the diagnosis is fully right, but i take the medication they have prescribed me.
What's interesting is that this medication (lamoctrigine) was originally used for people with epilepsy, to prevent seizures. Then, later, they noticed that those patients taking the drug were generally less depressed and started trials to use is as an anti-depressant, which worked well for bipolar people as it has also a mood stabilizing effect.
This links the seizures with the depressive/anxious symptoms a lot of us report.

Thank you for your support! Do you have twisted posture or smth like that? I have mild slouch and believe it plays considerable role in my problems. It feels like something in my neck gets pinched and I got elevated blood pressure in my head after or something like that. After some treatement lately my constant tension in head which didn't bother me so hard for a long time came back. So I've been tryin things and found out lately that if I'm not experience body weakness or pain during a pois episode something to lower blood pressure and niacin A few hours after helps me get rid of this tension in the head.
