I don't have POIS anymore
« on: October 24, 2019, 11:36:55 AM »
Hi everyone,

I've been feeling much better for a few months. In fact, I no longer experience any POIS symptoms after O. However, this does not mean that I am cured. Let me explain.

Over the past year, I have taken indomethacin before each ejaculation. It has helped me to reduce the intensity and duration of symptoms better than any other previous treatment. But what really helped me was that I started visiting a "magnetizer" 8 months ago, on my gf's advice. Here's how it went: when I first met him, I had doubts about his ability to help me in any way, but since the doctors couldn't help me, I figured I didn't have much to lose.

When I told him about the symptoms, he just said that when a car battery is empty, all the warning lights come on. He said that he was like a battery with unlimited supply and after 3 sessions my battery would restart.

After each of the 3 sessions, I would feel better but only for few hours. One night, around 6 months ago I was doing my breathing exercice when it occured. A blast went from my prostate to my head and I lit something in my brain. Suddenly, my left sinus, clogged for years was unblocked. I felt very strange.

After that I started having less and less symtoms after O. I quit taking indomethacin two months ago and I don't experience any symptoms after O now.

But I'm not cured. I still can't do sports, I still can't eat a lot of things, I still can't support sauna, I still have headaches in the left part of my head... I think it's all related to the vagus nerve. I'm working on it.

I know some of you will say that it's not scientific, it's okay, I don't expect you to believe my story. I don't encourage you to go to people who say they can heal you by magic, I guess most of them are crooks. I just wanted to point it out, I'm not sure it can be of any help because I can't really explain what I don't understand.

Cheers,

POISse

Why can't I fix my POIS by just doing something random :(
I have been trying to fix this illness medically for five years very little success.
This illness is so unfair :(

It is!
10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business

I think it's all related to the vagus nerve.

Interesting validation opinion as to why this forum once committed $35,000 to study the vagus nerve!

Vagus nerve is implicated there is no doubt.

Trying to fix this for at least  13 years, i have this problem much longer but it wasn't this severe back then.

Nas what helps is cryotherapy ( get into cold water in autumn and winter etc), carnivore diet ( raw meat raw eggs and raw milk preferred) and abstaining from erections and orgasms as long as you can. If you get neurotic and insomnia due to abstaining take benzodiazapines or other sedatives untill you fall asleep.

Both benzodiazapines and extreme cold can lower or increase activity of vagus nerve but also modify immune activity

Nas what helps is cryotherapy...

I was sitting on a terrace where they had an infrared lamp installed. It radiated towards the left side of my head. It induced activity around the area where the vagus nerve is running. I did not feel well, similar feeling when during peak summer or when entering a hot room.

Yes extreme cold works for me (for almost all symptoms including POIS). Problem is that it needs to be applied continuously.

Hi POISse,

What you described, this experience you had following your energetical treatments, is called, in spiritual/energetical language, a kundalini awakening.   It can also occurs with regular practice of yoga and meditation.   It could be described in simple term, as the "unplugging" of the main energetic channel, the one that runs from the bottom of the spine up to the brain.

In Eastern, holistic medicine, like traditional Chinese medicine , and ayurveda in India, the energetical anatomy is used in treatments, which aims at a better circulation of the Chi, Ki, Prana , or whatever you want to call this non-physical energy/life force.  In Western medicine, which is, up to now, strictly materialistic, this is not suppose to exist and must not be talked about or considered as valuable treatments, and are considered frauds or remnant of a primitive stage of thinking from the pre-scientific era.

In my experience, I have taken from both of those worlds to help me with my health. I broke my wrist a few years ago, and had a surgery to put a metal plate there and fix it.  But in some cases, like you have pointed out, when mainstream medicine has nothing to offer, it is great that something else exists and can be tried, when one choose to do so.   Tai Chi, meditation, yoga , has been much more useful to calm my anxiety than benzodiazepines or other drugs, which always have rebound effects, in my case, or too much side effects.

I am glad that you had great result from those treatments.  A real scientific, not one that has become blinded by the current scientific views, would want to know what happened and what helped you in those treatments, but unfortunately, no funds will be available for studies of techniques that are not compatible with the current Western medical paradigm.

I was doing mindfulness meditation. I strongly recommend this type of meditiation, it was the trigger for me.

Since I haven't post in a while I'll just write an update here. I am still symptoms free as long as:
- I don't O sitting or laying on my back. Interrestingly it is the usual position for masturbating.
- I don't sleep right after O.

Other activities can still trigger POIS like symptoms:
- any activities that increase heart rate (sport, sauna...).
- not strictly following my diet (gluten-free, sugar-free...).
- smoking

Also:
- I tried VNS but it didn't do much for me.
- I was diagnose with TMD

Cheers,

POISse

Yes I believe indometacin was a big part of it as well.
I O standing, kneeling or leaning forward.
I did experienced pois a few times over the past year (around 5% of O). Changing lifestyle is important as well (surrounding yourself with people with good influence, decreasing stress level...).

Hello some update about my experience with pois.

I am still pois free most of the time but not all the time. I don't take any supplement.

I figured that in my case it is ok to watch porn but not to much. Watching porn increase the possibility of what I call having "a leak". What I mean by "a leak" is the inside small leake of semen you can can have sometime. Everytime I have a "leak" I am going to a pois state instantaneously, no matter if it's hours after O. That is why I also avoid laying on the back, sitting and going to pee after O, as it increases the probability of "a leak".

I may not have pois symptoms but I still can't do/eat a lot of things. I also still have a lot of bad "permanent" symptoms such as trouble sleeping, attention deficit disorder, problem connecting with others, memory loss etc.
