Best source of protein for POISers?
« on: July 05, 2014, 06:40:23 PM »
over the last two weeks, I have increased my protein intake by eating 6-7 boilded egg whites per day ( I don't eat the yolk). Egg whites are almost pure protein. I have noticed enhancement in my physical performance. I didn't have the same results when I ate extra beef, chicken or fish. I don't know if it has something to do with POIS in general or it is something personal. perhaps you will get similar results  :)

Congratulations if eggs help you. I'm lucky to have organic eggs so eat 1-2 eggs at morning. Better for health. Does-it improve my POis? No. But fish improve my symptoms. I don't think the help come from proteins but from lipids in fish and maybe vitamin D.

Thanks!
Fish is great. I am not sure if it helps me with POIS but it defintely doesn't make it worse. Fish is POIS friendly.
I'm sorry if my words weren't clear (english is my second language), I didn't mean egg whites help me with POIS symptoms  or it's a remedy for POIS. I meant it as a source of proteins in diet. POISers have a lot of similarities. so when I responded well to egg whites, I thought to myself POISers probably will respond in the same way so I shared my experience here  :)

I don't have time to eat, so I drink a lot of EAS carb control protein drinks.  This protein seems to keep me generally balanced.

The best protein for POIS that I've found is sushi.  I can cure POIS that would normally take a week within 24-48hrs with a $100 dose of sushi.

My wife has been making tuna helper using fresh salmon, and that seems to be helping as well.

For me, it seems like omega3 rich proteins seem to do best.

Too bad I don't get similar results when I eat fish  :(  I once spent a whole week when Sea food made more than 50% of my diet but It didn't help either my permanent or temporary POIS effects. I can't afford that much amount of Sushi.

I can afford big amounts of canned tuna. do you get good results with canned tuna too or Fish has to be really fresh?

An element of omega 3 is called DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid).
Sperm is rich in DHA (I didn't find the value of DHA in human semen, if someone has this data).

Human can synthetize DHA from linoleic acid but the conversion could be slowed by some factors.

That's interesting! if we try all omega-3 rich food and they give us similar results, then it could be strongly related to POIS

I have found another testimony. A guy with clear Pois symptoms felt improvement after eating in a japanese restaurant. I gave him an answer, I hope he will come back soon :

I have some omega-3 supplements. But I'm not sure the effect is as good as fresh salmon.
In my case, more ejaculation give more symptoms, maybe I became older now
I will try to compare fresh salmon vs omega 3 supplements after 2-3 orgasms.

In omega-3 supplements, we have EPA and DHA in good quantity. Sperm is rich in DHA.
Salmon/fish have omega-3 and others interesting elements : vitamin D, astaxanthin, taurine, vitamine B6.

Lately, I've been getting my protein from beef, chicken, turkey, nuts (pistachios), and fish (sardines, salmon).
