Do consecutive orgasms reset the POIS episode of the previous one to some extent?

Yes but the amount that is being reset depends on the strength of orgasm

POIS reset behaviour
« on: June 10, 2021, 03:56:38 PM »
Example: post O symptoms of orgasm 1 are currently climbing and being at a level of 50%. 2nd orgasm returns it to 10% and same cycle repeats.

Some call it cycle reset others overwriting or temporary reverse behaviour.

After nocturnal emission i tend to masturbate a couple hours later to get milder symptoms...

If this effect is the case for most of us could that mean that orgasms trigger an effect within our body that is then slowly reversed and that return is what causes the symptoms? Maybe that also indicates that healthy people get the same effect but have some sort of mechanism that reverses the effect naturally and symptomless that we just lack?

Just a theory to trow into the mix:)

I think orgasm is a double-edged sword. It contains an anti-inflammatory component that is dominant at the early phase before the pro-inflammatory takes over as time goes by (or vascular dynamics play a role here). Aside from the pro-inflammatory internal contact reaction with ejaculate.

What is intresting , i remeber one poisers on NS forum (niacin works
for him), he was saying that if he was in constant pois after eyaculation,
then his solution was that he took niacin and did eyculate again , to
go out of pois mode. Intresting ...

This is how both orgasm and exercise feel for me: I feel great in the moment, better than usual. But after a while (maybe an hour on average?) the inflammation symptoms start rolling in. Exercise is also anti-inflammatory in healthy people, right?

EDIT: But I don't think I get the effect mentioned in the poll though. Day 2 and 3 after orgasm are usually the worst for me. If I have another orgasm at that point, I might feel better in the moment, but I'll quickly return to day 2/3 symptom magnitude I think. Not 100% sure though, as I've been mostly abstinent for a long time.

Phenomena could be related to my data. Cytokines dropping down post O. Cytokines reaching a minimum and return towards normal values, some overshoot upper limit. 2nd orgasm decreases cytokines again. Dipping post O could be related to reset behaviour. Is this due to decreased intracellular calcium in lymphocytes or cells in general. Are ion channels involved?

Plus the effect below. The short-lived symptom dipping close after orgasm, as discussed in this thread, isn’t visible in this type of graph.
I get the impression that the intensity of symptoms behaves as a function of the number of orgasms in a logarithmic function like manner (or inverse function; climbing towards a horizontal asymptote). The magnitude of symptom intensity affects the maximum duration of symptoms.

Edit: so to be clear, it’s the maximum intensity of symptoms from an orgasm on the vertical axis versus the number of consecutive orgasms on the horizontal axis. Picture has been copied from wiki. Just look at 1 graph, like the blue one. It’s about the shape of the graph.
