Sarcoidosis - Subcutaneous Nodules (EDS?)
« on: November 18, 2020, 03:17:26 PM »
I recently noticed that I have nodules (knotted formations) in the subcutaneous tissue on the inside of my arm (specially on the biceps) and some other places too where the skin is softer (sides of the hip where the skin is thinner). I can't see the knots but if I pull my finger over the area or "roll the skin between the thumb and index finger  I can clearly feel that there are many nodules in the size between 0,5 cm to 2 cm. It doesn't feels like it is in the mucsles because they are still "over" the muscles when I tighten them and I dont thing they are lymph nodes since they are all over the place.

I think I had them many years and they don't hurt at allt. My girlfriend doesnt have them. There is a symptom called "Darier-Roussy subcutaneous sarcoidosis" or "Subcutaneous Nodules" that matches my symptoms. The nodules are present at 3-30% of patients with reumatic fever. Some information states that they are caused by auto-immune inflammation and associated with Pernicious anaemia and Autoimmune thyroiditis. Maybe its just part of my skin type that is surprisingly stretchy, almost like Ehlers-Danlos syndrom (EDS).

Neuro-sarcoidosis most commonly affects the cranial and facial nerves, the hypothalamus area of the brain, and the pituitary gland which control the production of testosterone by the testes.

I made a EDS-poll here:

Does anyone else have these nodules or very stretchy skin?

As an observation, useful.

Have you ever tried to consult a doctor or not?

Not about this no. The western doctors are not intrerested to investigate rare diseaes that they havn't learned, like POIS. They just ignore you.
