Even the thought of sex gives me POIS
« on: December 05, 2012, 07:44:32 PM »
For the past week, I have been in ultimate-mode. I was smarter, funnier, and a lot more smoother. But the moment sex comes into my head and I become horny, I lose it and I become a dumbass.

Is there a way to decrease sex drive? I am 25 years old and need some serious help.

I know what you mean!
I discern this myself for about  6 months now.
Before that I only had POIS after an O. But my POIS is exasperating I think.
My doctor gave me some medicine to decrease my sexdrive but when I met my urologist he told me this medicine is not very healthy and I stopped with it.
He didn't like to prescribe something else but sent me to a University Prof with whom I have an appointment for February 25 now.
I suppose he is not a man to prescribe some pill and: ready, next patient!!
On the other hand I don't think he has ever heard of POIS before, so what will he do?
If it comes to some safe medicine to reduce sexdrive I will surely let you know.
In my opinion it's the only thing that might help with this problem of  ?POIS after sex without an O?.
It could be great if we could regulate our sexdrive to a certain extend!

artist, what drug did your doctor prescribe you to reduce sex drive? In my experience they will script antidepressants whenever possible so I'm thinking that's what you got. But in that case it would be interesting to me that your urologist said it was unhealthy.

Taking ginger tea, no wheat, fenugreek+green tea/garlic, saw palmetto, niacin, boswellia, huperzine, B complex and nutmeg. See my treatment summary post for more info: http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=81.msg3513#msg3513

Hallo suppertime,
The drug I got was ?androcur? 10 mg ( cyproteron ).
It will sometimes be prescribed for women with excessive body hair.
I used it a fortnight but I am not absolutely sure it did anything. I would have liked to use it any longer and possibly in a higher doses but my urologist advised against it.
He called particularly  thrombosis as a risk.
For all I know it is not an  antidepressant.
I hope there are other drugs (more safer ) than this to try out.
I will hear it when I see my Prof.

Thanks for the response, artist. Interesting. Sounds like you have a good doctor. I doubt my doc would ever script me something out-of-the-norm like androcur.

My mom say my presciption for prostate disease. I just told her that it was for my urine infection. Prescription didn't work btw.

Suppertime, I wonder if saw palmetto might benefit you. I get a lot of inflammation in my urethra and anal region and I suspect the prostate - Saw palmetto reduces a lot of that pain. There's also a lot of scientific evidence that says it is probably about as effective as prescription drugs for prostate problems.
