Hi,

I got a CRP test back in 2016 to test for high inflammation from POIS. The result was 0.44 mg/L, with a reference range of 0.0-4.9.

However I did not get the test while symptomatic, which is oviously a big problem. Also apparently there is a high sensitivity test which captures a better picture than the standard CRP test.

I'm wondering if I should get a high sensitivity CRP test while symptomatic. You can purchase such a test online for about $50

Thoughts? Has anyone done this? I see a lot of discussion about inflammation on this site, but have found very little discussion of CRP to validate if the inflammatory hypothesis is correct.

I don't have the answer but I  tought to something...

Since 2008 I don't eat sugar and it improves my Pois by 50%
The other 50% is taurine.

Since 2018, I try to eat better for my stomach gastritis.
But last week, i bought junk food (cakes) and eat a lot of this (a 900g cake eaten in 1 day !).

And I get acne and pimples... After ejaculation, I get acne too.
The scientific argument about sugar and acne is increased insulin and IGF-1 factor.

So, I always said inflammation is a good argument for Pois but we don't have medical data to show it.

I don't think CRP increase with acne so maybe it's not a good test for Pois. Something showing acne might show Pois too. Maybe I'm wrong.

Taurine = Anti-Pois

No. One study measured CRP in 14 POIS patients, all normal (Reisman. 2020).

  • Use Adaptogens and Antioxidants, they can help.

My CRP test was also normal, measured in morning-after-evening-O

There were other measureable indicators mentioned in forum, something about viral activation... also IDO activity but maybe that's a deadend.
