Weird temporary partial POIS cure
« on: May 27, 2019, 05:11:51 PM »
Hey all!

I am new here and have been suffering from what I now know to be POIS for over 15 years. There have unfortunately been times that I have come very close to committing suicide as a result of the unexplained and endless cycle. Now that I at least know what it is that I am up against, I have some hope that I can find relief and have a 'normal' life. After I found out the name of what I have, I told my doctor who promptly said he could not help me and that it was a "rare disease"   ::)

Fast forward to today, I have been having severe POIS symptoms which make it very hard to hold down my job as a mechanic. But I found a really weird thing that seems to provide very temporary relief... Vitamin B that causes the Niacin rush  ???

During the rush which lasts for anywhere from 1/2 hr to 1 hr my POIS symptoms almost completely disappear, and then just as quickly re-appear after the rush is over... Does anyone have a good explanation for what is happening here? I have been trying to find some reason as to why this happens, as I have read of others more permanent success with Niacin. It seems to make no difference whether I take Niacin before or after O's

Thanks in advance for your input!

Dusak92, welcome to the forum.
10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business

Hey Dusak,

You're definitely on the right track since you figured what works for you. POIS is a bizarre illness where people have different treatments for their own condition, and they have varying symptoms.
For example, Niacin rush didn't really work for me.

So for now if I was you I'd start discussing the involvement of vitamin b3 in POIS. Perhaps asking a doctor, or doing blood tests for Niacin levels. Low Niacin ( Pellagra ) is known to have cognitive symptoms.

Best of luck!

I definitely am going to discuss this with my doctor, its just kinda weird how it only makes a difference while the flush is happening... Hopefully I can find a way to make it last longer.

I also know I have Candida and gut issues (which I've been trying to treat, but its not easy) and I know that this contributes to POIS in a lot people.

Thanks again!

Can you go into more detail about how you use niacin. Are you ejaculating and then using niacin or are you using niacin before and letting  the flush run its course and then ejaculating.

Hello Dusak92, the most important question is: when are you taking it?

What it works for most of us is to follow a specific protocol-

- Take a crushed niacin - turn it into powder- (around 200 mg if you weight around 80 kg) and wait for the flush to appear.
- After the flush has started to recede, AND, at least after 50 minutes have passed since you took the niacin, you have a
"window of opportunity" to have as many O.s as you want in the next 3 hours.
- Several POISers (including myself) have said that they experience a relief around 50-100%. In my case I don't have any POIS symptoms, they are completely eliminated, except for a small constipation.

I've been taking it AFTER O mostly, sometimes before (up to 1/2 hr or so...) Next time I will try your formula and report back with the results!
Congrats by the way on eliminating your POIS!!! That is freakin awesome  :)

We need to blood test Kynurenine in Pois.

If niacin helps, it may prove that the balance of the 2 tryptphan pathways ( serotonin pathway and Kynurenine pathway) is distrubed by ejaculation.

Taurine = Anti-Pois

Hello demo!, I am sorry but I think I conveyed the wrong message! I did not want to say that I was cured 100%, what I wanted to transmit is that I don't experience any symptoms if I take niacin beforehand!

It is my opinion that POIS occurs because we have "wrong" Orgasms (niacin makes them to be GOOD orgasms, an interesting question would be: "Could we have these Good O. if we control our vagus nerve?" according to me), I have expressed my theory before and I believe that my POIS is less than it used to be in the past.

Dusak92, I really think that you should try it BEFORE to make a difference. You should be "protected" when the shock occurs.
