What if POIS=auto immune and hormonal?
« on: March 14, 2019, 01:23:33 PM »
Some people think POIS has to do something with the immune system. Others think it is hormonal (testosterone). But what if it is both? And maybe that is the reason why POIS is so complex.

If I look at the blood results topic there are a few striking results. Some of us have high cortisol and low testosterone. What if there is a problem with the adrenal glands? Did someone took a scan of the adrenal glands and the pituitary?

POIS since 2000. Very bad since 2008. I knew that I have POIS since June 2010. Desensitization since March 2011. I stopped with desens in July 2016. I have 50% less POIS. And only 1 day of POIS. Purified CBD works for me, but I am allergic for CBD.

I believe in this theory.
We need to find out why low testosterone and autoimmune reaction.
I believe that low testosterone is due to stress (low serotonin, gaba, dopamine, etc ...) and the exaggerated auto immune reaction is due to chronic subclinical inflammation like gastritis, intestinal problem, spine injury, prostatitis... etc. My case is spine problem.
I'm trying to deal with these situations. The chronic inflammation of my spine I deal with physical and postural exercises. The part of chronic stress is being the most difficult .. This week I will consult with another neurologist and see what he tells me. I'm in the line of GABA .. I believe my problem is low GABA
My POIS only happens with masturbation. Normal sex does not generate POIS symptoms. My POIS is related to me mood and the health of my cervical spine. Dopamine/Inflammation/Body constitution (genetics) are factors that contribute to POIS.

Did someone took a scan of the...pituitary?
Normal.

10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business

I read that Gaba brings cortisol down. I have a sleeping problem. Is it because I have high cortisol? Or do I have high cortisol because my sleep is bad. Or maybe both?

The pituitary regulates temperature in the body. I have hot flushes and chills even out of POIS. Before only in PoIs. I read that others also have flushes and chills when in POIS. Yesterday I did a blood and 24 hour urine blood test in order of my immunologist. Next week I will get the results. If there is no outcome to help me I will ask for a scan of the adrenal glands and the pituitary.

Ok. Would be great if someone did a scan for the adrenal glands.

We should also take into consideration the fact that brain symptoms could lead to slowed down hippocampus, which could the reason for many of our HPA axis issues.

I do believe Adrenal gland is the master root cause for POIS (or you can call it chronic stress).  However adrenal gland/HPA axis is also fuzzy.  Adrenal glands first casualty is Thyroid gland.  Thyroid gland the master regulator for metabolism is producing a cascade of events (various metabolic path impairments), simple e.g. like when you eat protein, allergans are getting produced, autophagy (garbage cleaning) is not happening, causing auto immunity issues.  All these dysfunctions are producing inflammation causing POIS.

Just saying ... you could very well nick and pick inflammation - an "effect" of a cause by helping our big Pharma friends and helping them create 1000's of meds and 1000's of diseases - the "effects" and not the "cause", or you can thoroughly understand the one thyroid and nip the problem at its origin.  And while I do think adrenals or HPA axis is the actual real cause and wish there was a supplement, but adrenal overdrive is caused by your experiences/events that have happened.  Yoga will help, CBT's will help but question is how much.  The 2nd point of intervention is Thyroid, and really the first effective point of intervention for a molecule drug is indeed Thyroid.  Docs are not treating nor diagnosing thyroid right because of the medical framework constraints they have been trained to follow, they have boxed themselves in it, it is time-consuming but treatment is simple.  TSH, T4, T3 balancing could be complex or could be very easy once you understand it.  Thats my area of research at present.  (I'm not into medical sciences guys so its challenging for me, but I'm very very thorough, I wish others with expertise would be brave enough to confront the current state of medical sciences and and look at thyroid - the root problem, with an open mind).
