Physiological Aspects of Male Libido Enhanced by Standardized Trigonella foenum-graecum Extract and Mineral Formulation.

Abstract

The aim of the clinical study was to evaluate the effect of Testofen, a standardized Trigonella foenum-graecum (Fenugreek) extract and mineral formulation, on male libido (sexual drive, urge or desire) in a double blind randomized placebo controlled study. The study recruited 60 healthy males aged between 25 and 52, without erectile dysfunction and randomized to an oral dose (two tablets per day) of the active treatment (600 mg Testofen per day) or placebo for 6 weeks. The primary outcome measure was the DISF-SR (male) self-administered QOL total score and the four domain scores. The secondary outcome was specific quality of life parameters. Testofen had an overall positive effect on physiological aspects of libido. In particular, there was a significant increase in the subdomains of sexual arousal and orgasm. Testofen had a positive effect on QOL in self-reported satisfaction with muscle strength, energy and well-being but did not have an effect on mood or sleep. Serum prolactin and testosterone levels remained within the reference range. It was concluded that Testofen demonstrated a significant positive effect on physiological aspects of libido and may assist to maintain normal healthy testosterone levels."

Evaluation of the potential antifertility effect of fenugreek seeds in male and female rabbits

"Abstract

Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the potential antifertility activity of feeding diets containing 30% fenugreek seeds to male and female white New Zealand rabbits.
Results: The data presented in this study clearly demonstrate an antifertility effect of fenugreek seeds in the female rabbits and more of a toxicity effect in the male rabbits. In males, testis weight was reduced, with evident damage to the seminiferous tubules and interstitial tissues as shown by the histopathology of testis tissue sections. In addition, the plasma concentration of the androgen hormone and sperm concentrations were halved in the treated animals. In the case of the females, there was evidence of a significant reduction of developing fetuses as observed by reductions of both fetal and placental weights at 20 days of gestation and of the litter size. This was further supported histopathologically by the observed proliferative changes of the endometrial glands. The circulating plasma progesterone concentrations at 10 and 20 days of gestation significantly increased with no significant effect on the prebreeding estrogen concentrations in the treated animals."

May fenugreek increase testosterone?

May fenugreek help some poisers because it increases testosterone?

After spending loads on supplements I found out that the only thing that works is abstinence. Full stop. And it's free.
Meditation if done correctly is great too.
Also avoiding computers produce faster recoveries and fewer temptations.

Thanks for the post Poseidon. Interesting that Fenugreek seems to be popular and one I am also trying.

I have no idea. I just stumble on this just by chance. I think it's a lot easier to order it from the US.
BTW fenugreek never improved my symptoms.

Well, that's a little unpromising for me.
I wanted to try Fenugreek but i have this hunch that nothing will work.

Consider that fenugreek helped conisderably many many others. Some couldn't live without it.

The interesting bit is that, to my knowledge, fenugreek has never been linked to testosterone. All I heard was linked to its blood sugar lowering properties.

Yes, i suppose. But its the same story with Niacin, antihistamines, vitamins or garlic gloves. They only work for some.
For me nothing from these has worked so far.Maybe, what some of us need, are combined remedies that need time to improve our condition
and not just one pill or one vitamin.

Thanksfully, we have the research coming up and hopefully we will starti answering these questions
and why there are so many different remedies and reactions among us.
