My apologies, I don't mean to look selfish..
« on: December 14, 2011, 06:45:57 AM »
Guys, I have a lot of POIS symptoms as many of you can relate. My issue started suddenly at the moment I started orgasm 8 years ago, I immediately felt dulled and cognitively drained. It happened in a split second and have not had a second of relief sonce. This constant problem has gotten worse over time due to sexual activity with the POIS on top of it making things worse.

I am able to mildly help my POIS period with niacin and such like everyone elae but I have yet to have a lead to where the sudden 'turn off' came from dispite countless research. I had no prior problems. I would appreciate any of your input.

I do plan to donate to help the greater cause when I enter back into my familys business upon recovery. There are some cery intligent people in this forum. If any of you guys have any ideas what may have caused such a sudden 'turnoff' whch has not since lifted, I assure you that it won't go underappreciated.

Thanks guys.

Jon.
My cognitive symptoms started suddenly during an orgasm when I was 16. I then developed my POIS and cognitive/physical symptoms became very severe. Had to leave work and school. This year I had 60% success with regimen. Recently the symptoms have gotten worse again. Let's help each other.

Unfortunately it's something we'd all like to know.

Fortunately for me, my POIS started later in life but we will try here to help people like you to not have to live the rest of your lives with this problem.

I feel the answer is closer. We can try to push the research program as much as possible, in my opinion, our only solution.

POIS can create other problems like CFS (Chronic fatigue Syndrome) and others, or put borderline afflictions, like ADD or depression, over the edge, so especially if you find that you are never out of POIS even after a month of abstenance, you should look at seeing a doctor for parallel illnesses. If you go to a doctor, don't mention POIS, let him evaluate you as a "normal person". If they can help at least partially, it would be sort of like a "weeding", clearing out the background stuff a bit so we can get down to treating POIS.

I think that it triggered from one day to the next with puberty, your POIS inadvertently triggers some other imabalance. Your symptoms are principally cognitive?

Tell me about niacin. For me it clears al the ycuk of the first two or three days and all of the cognitive crap. Just leaves me sometimes with muscle pain if my flush was not string enough.

WITHOUT RESEARCH THERE WILL BE NO CURE!
Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!

Thanks for the response. I thank you for that Daveman.

Yes, Ive seen countless doctors, done tons of testing. I physically felt the orgasm sort of 'drain' me of some cognitive energy and from that day it was downhill. That moment triggered something for me and no doctor has been able to make sense of it. It seems as if it all ties into my POIS because all my symptoms are directly affected by only POIS. My symptoms at this point are strong cognitive and physical.

The niacin for me gives me a little more energy and helps with my thinking. I can't do things on the go without it. But I need nearly 500mg for it to work and even then its inconsistent. The one time it worked good for me I had taken so much that I amost passed out.

Hi Jon,  What frequency are you at?  Have you abstained for a long period of time?  If so, what was the result?  There are a few of us here that have pretty constant POIS.  In my case it's due to frequency.  I agree with Daveman that we should all be able to find some relief.  My condition is doing much better due to Sublingual Immunotherapy (common allergy treatment in Europe).

Willem, Thank you for your response.

I am at a very low frequence, maybe once or twice a month. There have also been times like when I was in school that I abstained for months and never could recover fully. That sounds interesting. It is just very diffcicult for me because I cant seem to make sense of how suddenly it started with dulled out cognitive symptoms. And POIS has become tied in to all of it.
