My POIS triggers
« on: February 10, 2018, 11:12:11 AM »
What could caused my POIS? 3 potential reasons:
1. My POIS started 1 year after I had my own place. I used to eat with my parents. Every day fresh healthy food. Since then I ate pizza, pasta and fast food everyday. Before that I played soccer 3 times a week for 15 years. I was in great shape. I used to be skinny. In 1 or 2 years I gained 20 kilo. I am still not fat but my belly is too big.
2. I never masturbated as a kid. But when I started when I was around 24 years old I did it too much and too often. A few times I damaged my penis. My semen touched the blood on my semen. Maybe that’s a trigger for my brains that masturbation is not healthy for me. But I don’t believe too much masturbation is a trigger point for POIS. But the blood touching the semen may be a trigger.
3. A lot of family members have Crohne and other auto immune diseases. I tested on Crohne but I didn’t have it. But maybe I have this auto immune sensitive dna.

POIS since 2000. Very bad since 2008. I knew that I have POIS since June 2010. Desensitization since March 2011. I stopped with desens in July 2016. I have 50% less POIS. And only 1 day of POIS. Purified CBD works for me, but I am allergic for CBD.

3. A lot of family members have Crohn's and other auto immune diseases. I tested on Crohn but I didn’t have it. But maybe I have this auto immune sensitive dna.

"Crohn's Disease

Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory intestinal disease, with the involvement of immune cells. However, there is no confirmation of an autoimmune etiology. This condition can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract and causes diverse symptoms. Histologically, a perivascular distribution of lymphocytic infiltrates and the presence of occasional granulomas can be observed (Whithead 1980). Stricture and fibrosis of gut, often resulting in partial or complete obstruction, is a common finding in Crohn's disease. In Crohn's disease, the mast cells are redistributed and found in the muscle layers of the stricture, which has led to the suggestion that mast cells and their mediators may play a role in stricture formation (Dvorak et al. 1980a; Dvorak et al. 1980b; Gelbmann et al. 1999). There is also evidence of increased expression of IL-16 in Crohn's disease. This cytokine can be produced and released by mast cells, indicating a possible association between mast cell activation and CD4+ T lymphocyte recruitment during the inflammatory response. Moreover, mast cells are located near blood vessels and mast cell-released IL-16 can recruit circulating lymphocytes from the blood stream (Middel et al. 2001).

"In late responses mast cells secreted IL-16 and anti-inflammatory IL-1ra and released mast cell extracellular traps (MCETs) that ensnared, but probably did not kill C. albicans."

Opportunistic pathogen Candida albicans elicits a temporal response in primary human mast cells

C. Albicans ---> IL-16 (MCs) ---> Immune cell infiltrates in intestines ---> Crohn's disease?

Muon, do you have any skepticism about Candida?
10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business

The involvement of mast cells in human auto-immune development is very interesting.
Muon you remember that woman POISer I talked about? She developed POIS and MCAS after catching Lyme disease. Lyme disease is notorious for it's post infection symptoms.

As a cause for POIS? Then yes.

Perphaps she already had mild MCAS and Lyme amplified the activation even further via toll-like receptors. Chronic autocrine and paracrine effects from MC to MC could have changed her MC phenotype making her susceptible to other triggers like changes in sexual hormone levels or contact to sexual fluids. The Lyme might be gone but now you are stuck with a new MC phenotype that keeps responding.

It would be nice if she could share her medical test results with poiscenter. Are you still in contact with her?

Again pseudosience  ;) , this is multysystemic isue, it si well known that yeast problems are related to bad imunity, and you can disscus 100 years why it ocurs in some humans, and it is rare

(I mean that yeast go in blodstream is rare and how can we be so damn shure that exeact this isnt hapening in poisers????)

Is it ocur because of toxic(yeast, lyme, love toxic metals )-bad-gut- bad imunity and from that all our problems ocurs? Or it is from chicken wich come first? :)

I agree with you in your overall reflection. I believe that POIS is an autoimmune condition without a doubt. Given you have a family history of autoimmune conditions that run in your family puts you at a more significant risk for developing an autoimmune condition. You later mention diet and exercise which are key components in developing and treating autoimmune conditions. I think genetics and health (diet/exercise) are significant components to autoimmune conditions hands down. On a negative note to date autoimmune conditions do not disappear however can be managed with diet, exercise and avoiding triggers which unfortunately is one of the most pleasurable activities on the face of the earth. If one researches autoimmune conditions like RA and MS many people put it in remission with diet and exercise. Unfortunately POIS in my experience cannot be avoided without re framing from sexual activity and a healthy lifestyle. I feel we are all left to choose from a successful career and accomplishments in life vs having some sexual activity. I've decided to re frame from sex at this point in my life and go after goals personally. I don't claim to be an expert, I'm not giving advice rather just adding my 2 cents and sharing with my fellow POIS brothers. I think looking at other autoimmune disorders will give clues to treat POIS. Lastly I always hold out hope and I think one day autoimmune conditions will be at minimum treated successfully and best case cured. God bless you all.
