Many have shared on the forum that turning to a healthier diet has been very positve regarding POIS, resulting in POIS attack that are both less severe in intensity, and shorter in duration.

If you want to evaluate the brand of crackers, cookies, soup, peanut butter, yogourt, or anything else, that you are curently buying, this site will help you start in discerning what's not good, what's good, and what's better:  http://www.fooducate.com/ .  They rate food from D to A, including in-between rating like B- , B or B+

They give reasons for each evaluation, so it is really educates you about food and about how to read and understand food labels.  You can only verify how a specific food is rated, and you can search by . category to find the best rated in their category.

It is a good place to start.  Be aware that it is only a starting point, though, and after a few years, you may want to go further than that.  For example, many food rated "A " on this site wouldn't make it in my food list.  Like http://www.fooducate.com/app#!page=product&id=548DB29C-6D6C-3759-4CC4-AFAC97E623C9 :  "A-" rated, but BHT added, and I do not buy anything with preservatives added anymore, since there are alternative on the market that have no preservative and taste great ( and no, they do not rot on the shelf :) ).  When you get very serious about healthy food, usually, there are very very few to no mainstream brand products that will meet your expectations, and you will go to organic food and brand that specifically market very healthy food, the kind that will have organic certified, or/and specify a list of "Free of" ingredients on the box, ( free of artificial color. free of artificial flavors, free of MSG, free of preservatives, free of gluten, free of...., )

the fooducate.com site also gives calories per portion and give information for weight management too, but the site is an overall nutrition site, and is also intended for better health, not only for weight control, so it is helpful for you even if you have no overweight.

Dont' be alarmed if most of what you eat is not well rated.  Slowly change your eating habits, changing your D's and C's  for A's and B's ratings, a few at a time, each time you have to go to the grocery store.

The site has evaluations not only for brands of food, but also for veggies, or fruits, or else.  For example, you will find a page for broccoli: http://www.fooducate.com/app#!page=product&id=5CAA1548-A0B9-11E0-86F7-1231380C180E   .
