Update on use of Turmeric & Ashwagandha
« on: December 02, 2016, 08:32:50 AM »
Hi all,

I would like to share my results on using Turmeric & ashwagandha.

It seems that turmeric helps to cut down the inflammation that happens after orgasm which I see reduces the symptoms in about 70 - 80 %. My symptoms usually are extreme fatigue, strange type of headache (feels like slow blood circulation in the brain)  , brain fog, anxiety, depression , joint and muscle pain, sore throat (simply feel like every part of my body is under attack ). The duration of my symptoms - without any supplements - usually fade within 3-4 days, while on turmeric are reduced to 20-30% for 2 days.  Stress significantly affect the strength of the POIS attack and the efficacy of the supplement.

Here is the way I use turmeric:
1- I use raw organic turmeric powder , and not the curcumin supplement. I tried curcumin capsules but they didn't help.
2- I take 1 tea spoon just direct after orgasm, and then cup of water or cup of milk. After then, every 8 hrs I take half teaspoon of turmeric for 2-3 days.

I tried this method several times with success, The first time I used turmeric was amazing then the efficacy reduced to about 80% and sometimes less.

Recently I started to use ashwagandha which helped to increase my energy levels, which also contributed to enhance the overall state while on POIS. For ashwagandha I use 4  capsules of 1000 mg (divided in two doses).

I know that I'm taking high dose of turmeric, and not sure if there will be side effects on the long run, but this the only relief I have in hand right now.

I really hope that this will help. Please let me know if you need any information and share if tried and  have success.

Best,

Very encouraging results, Jimmy, thanks for sharing.

I can share some tips for a better absorption of the active ingredients in turmeric, that will lead to better results:

- take it with milk, not with water - fat increases absorption of the active ingredient.  Milk will also limit any possible stomach irritation.

- add a pinch of black pepper on your teaspoon of turmeric powder - it is proven that it boosts tremendously the efficiency

Keep us updated on your results!

Thank you Quantum for the information,

Yes, I feel that is better absorbed and tolerated with milk.

Regarding the black pepper, don't you think it hurt the stomach ?
I'm thinking to order some piperine supplement.

If you use only a small amount, it's not irritating, especially if you take all this with milk.  Just start slowly and see from there  Approx. 5mg piperine is needed for 400 to 500 mg of turmeric, so that's not that much.  I put 3 to 4 shots of pepper shaker on my cereals with milk and turmeric. Or I take my 400mg capsules that contain 5mg of piperine.
