Physical POIS
« on: April 22, 2022, 01:30:51 PM »
Hello everybody,
I hope you are all ok ;)

I have POIS since childhood, I would say type 1.
POIS type 1 from "Chart of POIS Types" -> symptoms:   brain fog (difficulty thinking and slow response time), impaired memory, headache, physical fatigue (low energy level), runny nose, insomnia, stiffness and pain in muscles and joints.
Also some emotional issues (anxiety and irritability).

Since March 2021, I have started going and seeing an osteopath after each POIS trigger.
The osteopath has a very hard time unblocking my body (mainly rib cage and higher back), but it fixes all the symptoms.
Even the others symptoms seem more mild now (no more emotional issues, less brain fog).
I have tried 4 different osteopaths, all of them can fix my body (more or less).

Are there others people like this on this forum ? "Physical POIS"  :o

Hi Hope,
It is already great news that you have found something that can relieve your POIS.  I am glad for you.
For now, we do not know enough to discern the different causes of POIS, and whether those causes are more physical or also part psychological.  Anyway, the body and the mind are tightly linked one to another, so it may be hard in some cases to separate the two.

You get relief from a physical method, which is great, but just like massotherapy can calm an anxious mind, I am not sure it proves that there is no involvement of the psyche in your POIS, and it does not say either that there is.  POIS research is still in its infancy, so for now, many questions do not have answers.

Keep us updated on your method, and if it stays effective, with time.

You are 100% responsible for what you do with anything I post on this forum and of any consequence it could have for you.  Forum rule: ""Do not use POISCenter as a substitute for, or to give, medical advice" Read the remaining part at http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=1.msg10259#msg10259
