I strongly advice you to consult a psychiatrist before trying any of the medical treatments listed below.
First off, I want to clear out something. I believe that my POIS condition is purely organic. Whatever mental symptoms said to be related to it (Brain fog, Memory loss, Talking difficulties, etc.) are merely symptoms that came along with POIS in a form of depression. So the treatment only helped me with the organic symptoms.
I visited an open minded psychiatrist in 26 Aug of last year, and he was convinced that my condition is due to an immune error. he prescribed me Voltaren Retard 100mg. Which an anti-inflammatory. Like many POIS treatments. It's not a perfect one. The treatment only lasted for a couple of days and everything went back to normal as usual. But I figured I'll share my thoughts and interesting points about this experience. I was advised to take two pills a day.
1 hour after the first O, I took one pill. and Voila! Was jumping like the average athlete the way I used to be. I couldn't believe it myself, thinking it was a placebo. The treatment lasted for about 4-6 hours. then symptoms came back. Took another pill and lasted for another 4-6 hrs. I enjoyed a full day free of POIS. Next day, at morning. I couldn't even stand up from bed. My usual Joints pain kicked in again even stronger. I took one pill and was free from POIS for another 4-6 hrs. And so on and so fourth, I was enjoying the treatment until 5 days have passed. The treatment became gradually less effective. As if the placebo is slowly wearing off (to this day I'm still not sure if it was a placebo or not, one thing I'm sure of is that I was working out and running like your average athlete with 0% POIS. So much for a placebo. But I'd rather to keep an eye out for all the possibilities.) So, with the treatment effect gradually wearing off, In addition to the expensive cost of the pills. I decided to give up and look for another treatment. Ever since I've been in a cycle of POIS with no improvement, only trying to cope with POIS and accept my fate for now.
However, here is an interesting "side effect" that came along with Voltaren Retard. This side effect is only sensible when in the (4-6hrs) Free of POIS period. Ejaculation became nearly impossible. No matter how hard I try, something in my body always tries to prevent it. To be precise it's a muscle in the Perineum area that keeps twitching desperately trying to prevent an ejaculation no matter how hard I try. Only a few times I managed to ejaculate in that state and it was only drops of semen if anything. Is this the antibiotic trying to prevent the immune system from doing something stupid? does POIS lie in that area? who knows. I was excited to share this with my psychiatrist but I couldn't have the chance to meet him again due to some governmental fililing issues. So I thought why not share it with the members here and see your thoughts about it. While waiting for a chance to meet another psychiatrist "It's hard to meet an open minded one from where I live." I stopped taking the pills after a couple of days. Although many people warned me about suddenly stop taking an antibiotic, I couldn't care less personally, with POIS I've got nothing to lose. I won't lie if I said my POIS symptoms have worsened ever since. But this has been the nature of my POIS over the years. It has gotten worse and worse already before I even took the pills. So that didn't change anything pretty much for me.
EDIT: adding a few points.
