premature ejaculation and minor pois
« on: January 14, 2018, 03:17:11 PM »
I am so happy I found this forum and I want to share my case.

I am 26 and have masturbated for more than 10 years on a regular basis (2 times a week). Although I can get aroused immediately, I orgasm very fast, too - usually less than 2 min. This became a serious problem when I started to have sex. I always think it is just PE. But I also read somewhere that if one does not ejaculate quick every time, then it is not PE. I usually last longer the second time after a couple of hours, which I think many people do the same.

I do have pois, which I think is related to PE, but not as serious as many other friends in the forum. I can feel the subtle pain in my left kidney area immediately after ejaculation, which lasts for maybe 5 min and disappears. If I orgasm the night before I will have minor brain fog and become less able to concentrate the second day, which are not too bad. The real problem is sore and dry eyes and dark circles. But it usually disappears the third day. Sometimes if I masturbate more than I usually do, like once or twice every day for a couple of days continuously, I tend to feel subtle sting in my waist. But the pain also does not last long and disappears gradually.

I started running on a daily basis 6 months ago. I feel good to keep running but it does not help with my PE or pois. I eat two eggs every day, which is not very helpful either. I also have bad alcohol resistance and I started hair loss since 22 - not sure if they are related to pois.

I think now I will try taurine for some time and see what happens.

Hi Graham, and welcome to the forum,

Dr Waldinger, the Doctor who first wrote about POIS and coined its name, have noted, in one of his POIS study, that most POIS sufferers also have PE.  However, PE is not rare at all, so the meaning of this association between POIS and PE is not understood yet.

There are other POIS suffers who, like you, do not tolerate alcohol very well.  I am one of these, and for me, it is clearly related to my sluggish liver ( alcohol is eliminated by the liver).   Nowadays, I take 25mg of B1 ( thiamine) before taking some alcohol ( I only take 1 glass of wine at a meal), and this helps my liver better process the alcohol by boosting the activity of the appropriate enzyme and also protect my brain from lacking B1, and I do not get sleepy or tired, afterward.

You may be interested by this thread I have written about POIS and the liver:  http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2431.msg20521#msg20521 .  In addition to more information about the liver, I have included simple ways to better support the liver functions

Thanks for sharing your POIS story.   Let us know about the results you get with taurine !

Thank you very much for your post, Quantum. I think I will do more research myself. And yeah, I will try using B1 before alcohol and see if it is useful.

In my case pre ejacultion doesn't lead at all to POIS, the little emotional dumping with pre ejaculation I think is due to prolactin in my case and is perfectly normal, with orgasm instead is a total disaster afterwards.

I have tried to take both Taurine and Choline for more than 2 months and no significant improvement.

Abstinence seems to help. I remember I almost had no burning eyes after an orgasm which was 3 weeks from the previous one. But if I orgasm twice within a week then the symptom occurs.

I wonder if it has to do with low Testosterone? Any thoughts.

Hey graham, alcohol resistance could be related to enzymes that are involved with dopamine metabolism. Check out this thread here

So it low alcohol tolerance could lead to susceptibility to developing POIS

ALDH converts DOPAL into DOPAC. Your body needs to make Dopamine and use that to synthesise NE to have an O. The body needs to efficiently metabolise dopamine into DOPAL and then to DOPAC as part of normal brain functioning. There's more of the dopamine produced during an O and hence more waste product (DOPAL). DOPAL is supposed to hang around for a very short period of time as it's excitotoxic.

The brain, is a very precise mechanism. Metabolising dopamine to produce dopal is a good thing as it's a relatively efficient reaction AND a bit of excitotoxicity is a good thing for a short while. It keeps the neurons stimulated. But only for a short period of time. After that it's bad shit.

Alcetadehyde Dehydrogenase is supposed to mop it up by turning it into DOPAC. If you had low DOPAC it may indicate that this mopping up process is not happening effectively and you're being left with too much toxic DOPAL at the synapses. This could interfere with memory, movement etc. Panneton's research is novel and intriguing. This is not an uncontroversial idea.

Another possibility is that you have or have had chronic exposure to external acetaldehyde which steals the acetaldehyde dehydrogenase needed by your nervous system. It's nasty stuff.

I too suffer from PE and POIS. POIS is still a significant problem for me, but PE I have actually managed to resolve!

The way that works best for me is doing pelvic floor exercises (Kegels). You end up getting a lot stronger at controlling the physical ejaculation response. You can be having sex and getting close to coming, but you are in control.

However, you do need to keep to the exercises regularly to keep the benefits.

I have also found 2 other things that work for me - dapoxetine (Priligy) or gabapentin. I don't recommend either, since they are prescription medicines, but they both do work for me. However, both make it more difficult for me to get an erection too. You would need to speak to a doctor if you were interested in these medicines.

Elevated PGD2 can cause hair loss.
A 2012 research paper indicates a causal link between elevated levels of localized PGD2 and hair growth inhibition.
