I don't want to advocate going to psychologists or psychiatrists, nor do I believe they would know what to do. I am interested in experiences with psychologists and psychiatrists as someone who has POIS. The reason is that they are judgmental and judge everything schematically. A "bad day" is for them not just a bad day but everything about you and a much more serious condition that they think they know everything about. Disagreement or argument at this point is no longer possible (and as an action is automatically made a part of your supposed issue).
That means, they are actually difficult and risky people to deal, and that one has to "impress" them, certainly in the first impression, or they might lead you down a path that is not within your interest or has not anything to do with your actual problems at all. So having a condition that can automatically give one a "bad day" is an extreme disadvantage when going to talks with such people.
I personally often had this issue, that when I went to a psychologist for a completely unrelated and specific reason, my POIS brainfog, posture problems and more difficult talking gave a worse impression and they immediately thought it was something completely different, giving me medication which ultimately harmed me more than normal POIS did, permanently.
So I am interested in what others have to say in terms of experiences with psychologists, psychiatrists, and if their POIS had impacted their interaction with them and how they dealt with POIS when going to such a talk.
