Hot or cold

I've read on the forums that POIS makes some people feel unpleasantly warm. Personally, it seems to make me feel colder than normal. Which is it for you?

it definitely alternates and its like my core temperature is too warm but when it IS cold my skin feels colder to me than when i'm out of POIS. It's like my thermostat is sort of stunted, its a diffcult feeling to explain.

Yeah, I'd say that in general I feel slightly warm, and hot weather sort of slugs me out. But in winter, I feel more aches and pains, so the cold also effects me. I answered "warm" though, hot or cold outside I tend to feel warm bodied.

WITHOUT RESEARCH THERE WILL BE NO CURE!
Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!

I feel way more sensitive to cold after an orgasm and actually feel better in warmer temperatures or if I heat up my body through exercise.
Taking ginger tea, no wheat, fenugreek+green tea/garlic, saw palmetto, niacin, boswellia, huperzine, B complex and nutmeg. See my treatment summary post for more info: http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=81.msg3513#msg3513

Both!

Just after orgasm, I feel cold and I'm more sensible to cold especially during winter.
I don't know if this symptom is normal or if it's my first Pois symptom.

But my real symptoms start 3-5 hours later and it's a hot feeling.

edit : 30min after meal, hot flashs especially if i eat carbs and sugar.

Yep that's my experience. POIS (brain fog and tiredness being my major and worst symptoms) doesn't seem better or worse in warmer temperatures though. Has anyone measured whether their body temperature actually changes?  I have a vague recollection that someone did and found that actual temperature didn't change. Might even be in one of the scientific papers -  I need to check.

I have noticed I can feel colder after the initial sunburn of a Niacin flush - probably because of vasodilation near the skin which is one of the mechanisms for the body to lose heat on a hot day. Badgerstripe when it is cold its normal to get vasoconstriction and blood is diverted away from the skin to conserve heat in the body. I wonder if POIS somehow exaggerates this for you which would explain your skin feeling colder. Stress, autoimmune responses/inflammation can affect body temperature/vasodilation/constriction amongst other things.

I find the way some people feel hot and others cold interesting and wonder whether this points to different underlying causes or just different responses to the same thing. I thought maybe those with joint aches etc felt mainly hot but VM I see you get these too. And B_Jim I think you said you used to be nearly all cognitive but now have some joint/flu issues too??

Yes, it feels like that vasodilation is happening with an overheated core and cold shivers on the skin, but without any change in the outside temperature.

When i go for sleep after an orgasm my body temparature falls a lot during the night and i feel very cold guys because of the orgasm. If i dont get worm up a lot in the hole lenght of the night i find myself when i wake up with a much more intensity of my POIS symptoms.Even now in summer i sleep with a small blanket because if i dont i will wake up extremly freezing with devastating symptoms. When i sleep without having orgasmed there is no problem at all so this leads to the conclusion that my POIS make me more sensitive to cold after an orgasm and my body temparature falls a lot.Do you notice something similar guys ?This happens for me only at night after having an O.When i wake up and at the rest of the day i dont notice that too much.

On the first night, maybe second, I sweat a lot. If I'm covered up I'm too hot, if I uncover, I get too cold from the evaporation. I usually end up with a leg and an arm out and the rest of the body covered.
