I though it could be interesting to share experience about this amino acid wich is suposed to lower histamine level ;

Anybody tried for a relevant duration ? Is it efficient ?

Have you had an O yet? Not saying that it will make a difference, but you may notice a difference "after O" compared to the "normal after O".

WITHOUT RESEARCH THERE WILL BE NO CURE!
Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!

I had an O 2 days ago but I used niacin also. So I am not able to measure its effects in terms of O. I can only say that by libido has been low as usual.
But, as I have already mentioned in another post, last year for a month or more I could only eat few amount of food because of an acute gastritis. I can notice a very mild irritation constantly on top of my penis. Well, on those days it faded away and my libido was very good.
But I cannot still see any of those effects with the approach I described above.
Maybe it takes time.

it maybe gives some results on the long run but I had to quit it because it made me feel very depressed, unmotivated and didn't produce any good effect

Beginning my trial of methionine today. I ordered thirty 500mg caps and I'll be taking one in the morning sometimes and sometimes one before orgasm. Just took one about 10 minutes ago.

I also took 350mg of mucuna pruriens today, which has been reliably(for ~1 month) giving me a slight energy boost that seems to last for up to a week with even just one cap. I'll be taking my usual fenugreek+tea combo in the morning and saw palmetto before orgasm. This will be in addition to a vitamin D3 trial I started a couple weeks ago, but hasn't had any effect yet and I don't expect it to considering I've never had any luck with vitamins(besides niacin).

As I understand it,  methionine isn't even required every day. So see what you can get away with, reducing down to a functional limit.

Interesting, I've read the opposite. I'll consider this during the following days and weeks.

Fenugreek
« Reply #9 on: January 29, 2013, 08:23:50 PM »
Hi All,

This time the question is mine.  I've been meaning to ask it for quite a while but keep forgetting to do so.

What is the purpose of fenugreek for treating POIS symptoms?  (I'm not challenging -- only curious!

What does it do for some of you -- and, if you know, what seems to be the mechanism?

I know that not all of you have found fenugreek helpful, but for those of you who have been helped by it -- please advise.

My only "medical" experience with fenugreek was with breast-feeding moms who came into the primary care office where I worked.  If their milk supply seemed low, or the baby wasn't "interested," fenugreek was recommended for the mom because it literally makes the breast milk sweeter.  The babies love it -- their feeding would immediately pick up, which in turn, would increase milk production in the mom.

And the moms all smelled like maple syrup from the fenugreek!!  I'd know immediately if a particular breast-feeding mom was taking fenugreek because of that smell (which was pleasant).

So -- I'm interested in what it does for POIS.

Thank you!

Stef

Why is Methionine supplementation so pyschoactive in me? I took 500 mg (recommened dosage) to see if it had any effect on my histamine levels and I felt like I was high on a street drug. I barely slept that night despite taking it in the morning. I read reports of people taking multiple GRAMS of this stuff and wonder how they could. I'm now experimenting with opening the capsule and taking just a tiny bit of the powder. Maybe 25 mg or so. Even this has a noticeable effect. I seem to become energized and my sinuses drain. Has anyone tried this? I'm starting to wonder if we do have a methylation problem after all. Though my 23 and Me results didn't seem to indicate anything serious on that front.
