Prof. Dr. Waldinger's Papers on POIS
« on: April 04, 2011, 07:43:28 AM »
Although this information is repeated in another topic, I have it separated here as a sticky topic so as to keep it on top for everyone.

You can find information about Prf. Dr. Waldinger refering to the POIS Collaborator's Database http://poiscenter.com/db/collaborator_list.php

Also the reports should be able to be obtained, through the references in the post at the NSF POIS forum http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=6576.msg340138#msg340138

Failing that you can always PM Demo or myself for more information.

WITHOUT RESEARCH THERE WILL BE NO CURE!
Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!

Thanks, Dave.

I just wanted to let everyone know that we can help you obtain ANY POIS paper.

All you have to do is ask. And since most are PDF's, we need your regular email address.

Dr Waldinger's pioneering 2002 study is available from us, and for the 2011 Waldinger study it is suggested that you contact Dr Waldinger directly via Dave's 2nd link posted above.

10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business

I don't think anybody has received them.

He seems to have forgotten us.

Good point Cornelius. I imagine how it would be to receive such an amount of emails.
On top of how he could really help a sufferer only over the internet, maybe some very general advices?

He can't even say if the sufferer is having POIS or not without a direct consultation. It is quite obvious why he avoid this kind of discussion. Let's hope that he will come up with some helpfull things in the future.
I have cognitive, psychological and physical symptoms.
I am apologizing for my English if it is unclear.

Have you seen his interview report by Drexel University published last year? Apparently he is an adjunct professor there. Probably via skype..
POIS sufferer for over 3 decades. Has progressively gotten worse over the years and I became completely disabled around 2011. My case of POIS is very severe.

Hello everyone!

Any update from Dr Waldinger?
no sugar diet helps me a tiny bit, also makes my mind much calmer in general. Sugar is definitely something my body does not handle well. Also I noticed that other inflammations like a hangover are better since I quit sugar. I avoid sweet fruits as well.

Yes, this is a sad news for the POIS community ( it has been discussed at https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=3008.msg29575#msg29575).

Thanks for mentioning it, ElVelero, it could have go unnoticed.

There is no team. Waldinger's research came to a halt. They handed his material over to his colleagues who did not continue his line of research yet as far as I know.
