I want to present my case. If anyone is similar to me or has some advice for me, please respond. I am a slim/skinny 26 year old. As I can recall, My POIS symptoms have developed over the past 4-5 years but it's only 2 months ago that it became so bad I became barely functional.

These current symptoms appear most often post orgasm:
- Fatigue
- Brain fog
- Declined cognitive ability
- Headaches
- Vivid dreams, usually nightmares
- Tinnitus (this used to be sporadic, now it seems permanent)
- Heart and Chest Pain that extends to left arm
- Loud bowel movements
- Random sneezing and coughing
- Throat Congestion
- Irritability
- Lower back muscle pain
- Anxiety, Depression, Low Motivation
- Sharp pain in glans and testicles
- Inflammation of glans, small, red, fleshy 'wound marks' appearing on it. And existing penile melanosis becoming darker and multiplying.
- Intense, revolting smell of semen

Less often:
- Joints pain

The following symptoms happened only once and lasted few days. 6 days post orgasm, in a POIS state which was further deteriorated by exercise and food poisoning:
- Sensitive, dry, burning fingertips
- Extreme Photosensitivity
- Nausea
- Lights flashing in eyes

POIS Duration:
2 - 3 weeks

POIS worsened by:
- Eating foods that I'm sensitive to (like eggs or baking powder)
- Over-exercising
- Sitting down for too long
- Stress

POIS unaffected by:
- Hot baths (no shower at my place)
- Hot weather

Experience relief with: Ibuprofen (45-65% relief), took it few days after orgasm and noticed an improvement

Some other facts about me:
- Random erections give me a momentary headache but that passes as soon as I go soft.
- I don't experience nocturnal emissions or premature ejaculations, so I can't say if they would affect me.
- I contracted HPV when I was 19. Had a genital wart on glans which was removed with cryotherapy. Then shortly after that, had a painful testicular infection which was treated with an antibiotic.
- Recent scan of testicles has not detected anything wrong in them
- I have penile melanosis (dark spots on the glans of penis)
- I used topical Erythromycin (antibiotic) to treat my acne on my back for 8 years. I quit using it in May.
- My diet has never been good. I used to consume a lot of milk, sugary cereals, sweets, chocolate, peanut butter, fast food. Since April, I've made radical changes to what I eat.
- My living environment was also bad. I've made improvements recently, but between ages 20-24 I lived in a mouldy environment. I used to have oral thrush. Wierd excess skin growth. But these are solved now.
- I developed chronic dry eyes over past few years, so dry that first immediate thing I do after waking up is putting eyedrops in. Otherwise I'd feel stabbing pain for the rest of day.
- Experience sharp pain in anus/prostate. This happens every few days, is always short and usually before I need to poop, but sometimes it just happens without reason.
- Recent blood test which was taken a week after orgasm, showed I have normal testosterone levels but very low level of white blood cells (Neutrophils)
- ECG test for heart detected no problems

I'd also be curious if the foods that are problematic for you have a High Arginine Low Lysine concentration. (could be some totally other thing though..)

Some of the issues you mentioned sound like high histamine / histamine overload, but I believe that theory is a dead end as it's only an effect and not a real cause. Might be better after hay fever season.

Hi certainlypois2 and hi berlin. I'm not sure if high arginine/low lysine foods are the problem. I'm still quite early to identifying foods that I react badly to but this is my list so far and also how I react to them:

- Red meat: causes bad mood and lots of gas
- Baking powder: causes brain fog and blurry vision
- Brussel sprouts: feel revulsion to it, causes nausea, wouldn't even digest, just vomit
- Eggs: feel revulsion to it, causes nausea, wouldn't even digest, just vomit
- Milk: causes stomach pain

My current diet consists of non-nightshade vegeteables, fruits, nuts, chicken and fish. My stomach still hurts from time to time so will try exluding nuts next to see what happens. Will try some antihistamines (benadryl) before orgasm to see if that helps too. As for Neutropenia, my white blood cell count seems to be recovering the further away I am from orgasm, but it's still within low range. 6 days after orgasm it was 0.9. On my last test which was 15 days after orgasm it was 1.8. Normal range seems 2.0 -7.5.

Hi quikot,
If you compare your POIS symptoms list to a List of possible POIS symptoms I have created 5 years ago, you will see that most of your symptoms are there : https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2027.msg15927#msg15927

I am sure your healthier diet will help you.  Many members had improvement when turning to a more healthy diet.  Better nutrition is part of my own overall relief method.  No more industrial food, no more MSG, no more aspartame, no more artificial flavor or color, no more refined sugar.  And, for 4 years now, my green smoothies of organic veggies and fruits are an essential part of my diet ( I have shared here my green smoothies recipe, at https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2497.msg21454#msg21454 ).  I have more energy now at 55 than I had at 35 :)  I think a healthier diet would help anybody, not just POIS sufferers, so it is a logical first step for any POIS sufferer.

I have tinnitus too, from drumming during my younger years.  My T is worsened by POIS, but not caused by POIS, obviously.
