Benadryl for POIS and sleep
« on: January 25, 2019, 01:20:21 PM »
In the past, I've taken Benadryl after an O to little effect, but this week I tried something a little different. I took one at about 8:30 at night on day 2 of my typical 6/7 day POIS cycle. It knocked me out by a little after 9 and I slept for at least 11 hours. Strangely, when I woke up on Wednesday and Thursday, I felt totally 100%. However, waking up this morning, I immediately felt a difference, like I was all the way back in full-on POIS. This makes me think it was the extended sleep and not the antihistamine that made me feel better. I'm gonna try taking a benadryl for sleep tonight to see if I feel any better tomorrow.

When I've taken Benadryl in the past, I've always had obligations in the morning and never let my sleep go uninterrupted for so long. This could also be related to how a nap often makes me feel better for a couple hours, at the cost of nighttime sleep.

Thoughts?
Symptoms last 6-7 days. Onset of muscle weakness after 30 seconds. Symptoms include: brain fog, fatigue, depression, pale skin/dark circles under eyes,  digestive problems, difficulty taking a full breath, irritability. NONE of these are present out of POIS.

I’m habituated to Benadryl. I’ve posted about it at different threads, including Testosterone thread, just this week:

Guys also diphenhydramine works very good for me. Not because it is antihistamine but because it is working for akathisia

For some reason pois causes restlessness and irritability

Diphenhydramine is also treatment for dopamine imbalance in brain

Careful, Labyrinth: I’m concerned that my 10-years-old Benadryl habit might have affected my cognition. So I finally quit my nightly dose about a week ago. I only will take it on Day Zero and maybe Day One to
Force Extra (daytime) Sleep, i.e., Benadryl-for-POIS only.
