Today my GP recommended Indomethacin. Any experiences?
« on: November 15, 2018, 06:16:34 AM »
Hi there,

Today was the first GP I have seen about POIS.
I was glad when he recommended Indomethacin a try because I had seen posts in this forum where people have had success. I have been prescribed 25mg capsules 30-60 minutes prior to orgasm although some members here have mentioned 2-3 hours before O? Curious to hear more experiences with it. I read about Selenium as a counter measure against potential indomethacin ulcers but will see if it is effective before I bother looking further into it.

Planning to take it with my prepack- not leaving anything to chance. :) I am one of the worst POIS sufferers here, I was unable to go outside for 2 days post-orgasm due to severe anxiety and brain fog, but my prepack has given me between 60% and 90% relief which has been life changing in itself. Still not at a level of relief that I am totally comfortable with, migraines often the day after orgasm and, my mood has been swinging terribly 1-2 days afted orgasm also, so the search continues for a more reliable solution if there will ever be one.

I see a top neurologist in a month so if anyone has any questions to ask him, feel free to ask.

Interesting Michael, when I combine indomethacin and dexamethasone I experience decreased time for healing from POIS.
I have multiple questions for your GP,
1- Why indomethacin and not a safer NSAID like Proxicam?
2- What does he think POIS is that lead him to perscribe Indomethacin?
3- Why brain symptoms? What's happening in the brain that cause us brain fog? Semen dilating into the blood stream? Systematic inflammation caused by mast cell activation? Arterial inflammation?

Anyways good luck with finding treatment, I'm also on the hunt right now. All I've reached right now is that I have an issue with mediators release and not white blood count.

I never had Indomethacin but was curious. It’s one of the heavy NSAID’s. With a lot of side effects. You should ask your doctor to give you something for the stomach because an ulcer is something serious.

I read that it works after 1 hour. So I think taking it’s better to take it 30 minutes befor sex. When you are ready the Indomethacin kicks in. And it only works for 6 hours. So don’t take it too early. Let us know if you found some relief. Good luck.
POIS since 2000. Very bad since 2008. I knew that I have POIS since June 2010. Desensitization since March 2011. I stopped with desens in July 2016. I have 50% less POIS. And only 1 day of POIS. Purified CBD works for me, but I am allergic for CBD.

I once took it after release and didn't really feel any difference. Hope it works for you.
