Two new scientific articles - end of 2017

Hi,

There have been 2 new scientific articles lately, one is a scientific review of all literature about POIS and what is known so far, and the other is more general about all kind of rare phenomena and problems linked to orgasm. 

The literature review is the most important for us POIS sufferers.  The abstract can be found at http://www.smr.jsexmed.org/article/S2050-0521(17)30116-6/abstract é.  This article has been made by the Department of Urology of Tulane University, in New Orleans.   It sums up everything that can be known about POIS in medical literature.   The authors have done a really good job, lists many possible causes for POIS in the abstract, and one goal of their review is to make medical community more aware of this syndrome, which they state as "underdiagnosed and under-reported" .  Great !!!

The other article published lately is found at http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2050052117300343?via%3Dihub#! .  It is not directly on POIS, but mention and describe POIS as part of their list of "peri-orgasmic phenomena).


The more POIS articles can be found when doctors look up for it in Medline or any other search engine of medical articles, the best it is for us!

On the "Walla" site. A very popular website in Israel. Published two days ago an article about pois.

The article is written in Hebrew

 Among other things, the article says: "The latter have begun to show experimental treatments
aimed at providing help to those suffering from POIS, but research on it led by "Tulane University Medical School" has not yet succeeded in breaking the mystery behind the triggers of the syndrome pois".

The article also states:
"The mechanism underlying the syndrome and its activation has not yet been deciphered by the researchers. And the fact that as of today there are only about 50 documented cases does not bring the researchers closer to the solution, because the existing cases do not provide sufficient data for the purpose of drawing scientific conclusions".

In my opinion The article also contains some inaccurate details.

Thanks for this information, Koko.  It is great that POIS gets some exposure in media all around the world.  That's good noews for us.


I have contacted this Tulane University team this week, and they are interested in submitting a project to NORD for our grant for a POIS study     ( see http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2574.msg22337#msg22337 )


It often happens that non-scientific journalists distort information when writing short article to report about a specialized, scientific subject like POIS.  They do not do much research before publishing.  This gives POIS some exposure anyway.
