Thanks for sharing that Mellivora,

It's a very recent article and opens my mind to the possibility of a drug therapy to help some of us.

No doubt, some of us experience CFS like symptoms.

I have not had any faith in a drug that would wipe out our symptoms, but maybe a drug combined with a few other approaches may be something that evolves into 2016. Fingers crossed.

Over the years, comparisons have been made on the forums between POIS and Chronic Fatigues Syndrome (CFS). So this article is interesting:

I have Both.
After 20 Years of CFS, I have developed POIS in the last two. (yes, Struck by lightning twice)
I believe overwhelmed antibodies may be involved in both as well.
The CFS symptoms have worsened in the last 2.5 years, and now this. Perhaps no coincidence.

They are very similar in symptom except POIS hits immediately, whereas CFS usually takes days to hit bottom after exertion.
And in my case, of course, one aggravates the other.
It started happening slowly: breathing problems after 'O'.
I though it was a Heart issue and saw cardiologist for Stress test/Echo, etc.
It wasn't.
It got progessively worse until full 1 week of symtoms.
Symptoms that are very similar but start abruptly.
I'm used to the devastation, but the breathing problem/shortness and unnerving and may not pass for 24hrs, making sleep impossible.
Laying down, in fact, makes it worse.

Only discovered what it was it out after googling symptons and found these websites and Wiki description
I'm feeling pretty Devastated now.
Thanks for article above on Cancer drug.. It may very well help both.

There must be an iceberg of cases below these surface reports.

Welcome to this forum, POISoff.

Your breathing difficulties after O, do they feel like they are linked to a constriction of you bronchi, or feel more like a high level of anxiety restricting the breathing process ?

You are 100% responsible for what you do with anything I post on this forum and of any consequence it could have for you.  Forum rule: ""Do not use POISCenter as a substitute for, or to give, medical advice" Read the remaining part at http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=1.msg10259#msg10259

Neither, really. Perhaps like anxiety but it ain't.
Just can't catch your breath no matter what.
How to explain?
I can get it from CFS in a bad episode, but it's 100% with POIS.
It may be heart-related, I was never tested during an episode.
Some CFSers think it is some novel right/left/artery/valve or muscular thing happening under stress.
'CFS SOB'

and thx for the welcome.

Its been quite a while since I made the original post here about CFS. Its been in the national press again lately. Within the article I'm posting this time, is an important message about how the medical industry can shun poorly understood conditions. I'm sure anyone with POIS will identify with this. And its why avenues like NORD and those rare medical doctors who don't turn away are invaluable.

Belated welcome, POISoff, to our forum.
10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business
