BIG PROBLEM
« on: August 13, 2014, 04:36:24 AM »
Hello to anyone,
I'm an Italian 29 y.o. man.
I'm searching for my problem and I have found this forum, hope that someone tell me something helpful.
The problem starts exactly one or two days after orgasm and consists in:
- wake up at 3:00 a.m. with racing mind (I have music in mind)
- sweating
- irritability
- stomach pain and acidity
- myoclonus and spasm
- fatigue
- light sensibility

I have noticed that most of these problems come from adrenaline, but why do I produce adrenaline so much?
In the past I also have itch in the eye and hands but now is better (maybe because of the use of vitamin C)
Anyone with these problems?
However, I don't think POIS exists (as pathology) , rather I think is a problem of neurotransmitter and histamine...

I add that my life is ruined for this problem.
I can't have sex because than something is wrong and I prefer not to have all those problems that cause me to live as a ill person.
These problems fade down after 4-5 days if I'm not stressed

Hi Alessandro,

Welcome. Your symptoms sound pretty much like classic POIS ones to me. If you have not yet got the medical reports from the forum admin (Daveman or Demografx) then I would recommend reading through them.

I used to get lots of anxiety from POIS. For me it built up after years of tension in my body. For your information there is currently a new POIS study underway.

Thanks for the answer, where I can find these reports?
I also forgot to say that I also have a lot of ANXIETY. It is my main problem.
I become sensitive to loud sounds (a ring of telephone startle me) and I find to be more perfectionist.

I have noticed that b-complex or tryptophan help not to sweat but, after a week, I started to have panic attack and bad dreams so I have to stop them.

It prevents the adrenal surge that come upon orgasm.

Does it really? I've never heard that.

I'm glad you found us Alessandro. It's always a relief to find out you are not alone

I don't experience things exactly the way you describe, but because the trigger is orgasm I think we share a similar cause. I see you have educated yourself on biology some, many of us here have become experts :) I believe that there is something important we are going to learn soon about POIS because of the research study that is going on, and I think the researchers have a great idea about what the cause of our trouble is. It has been almost totally unsuccessful to treat POIS with any kind of medication or substance that our doctors have tried us on, but no one has really studied dysfunction of our nerves directly. Read about Dr. Komisaruk's study he is proposing for us, and learn about the vagus nerve and nerve dystonia. I think you will begin to see there is hope in his research!

Welcome :)

P.S.: I forgot to mention ANXIETY. I have had mental health issues, especially anxiety and nerves. Please talk to your doctor about anti-anxiety medication (like klonopin), this is not a permanent fix but has helped me in the short term a lot!!!

Turmeric and Rosemary 30-45 minutes before orgasm for anti-inflammatory and immune support has helped me a lot. Faster and easier than niacin approach.

I didn't belive to receive so much answers...

The vitamin C that I use is 500mg of Solgar Vitamin C with Rose Hips.
I repeat that I don't know if it helps me, but I notice an improvement in hives in the hands and feet.

It's not only orgasm, is also masturbation without orgasm. I did a test but masturbation gives me the same symptoms, albeit less intense.
I tested and my exams reveal that salivary cortisol is high.

x Shinjiro I started b-complex because I have read that it helps for anxiety. I have notice an improvement for anxiety (internal and stomach tension) but, after a week, the anxiety appeared again (It's like a manic sensation, a feeling of panic that can explode from the inside. I couldn't sleep and I had many nightmares. This anxiety disappear after one day of discontinuance).
Is the same symptom of you?
I have read that b-complex can be stimulating for someone.

I have also noticed oiled skin. Is it a coincidence?

I can't stay on the chair because of anxiety. I start to underarm sweat for any reason...

Can I ask if someone test his blood histamine level? I suspect that mine is elevated...

Niacin have an anxiolitic effect, is it help for the problem or only for the anxiety?
Is there a test for B3 vitamin?

I add that, from the tests, if I masturbated (with or without orgasm) I'm really well that day. The problem is after.

In the past, the problem appeared after 4-6 hours from orgasm, and the main symptom was feeling a scrap.

I'll try B3 but I'd like to now what is the mechanism of B3. Why can it help?
Have B3 or niacinamide have the same effects?

Does anyone test for cortisol? I think that POIS is linked with this hormone.
I also have normal-low testosterone and low levels of free testosterone. Is Testosterone Therapy a solution for POIS?

It sound def like POIS. I am having similar delayed responses. I am Italian-american and used to eat too much pasta which I have just recently discovered makes symptoms much worse. Have you tried cutting out Gluten from your diet?

Try the niacin, NSAIDs and other treatments the guys try on here, but be careful and go at your own pace. I am learning patience is the name of the game with this crap.

I often wake up in pools of sweat feeling like I will pass out with, the GI symptoms. I know exactly what your talking about. It feels like you have the flu and are confused...

Hang in there man.
37 yo M- POIS for 25yrs (since age 12). Chronic POIS- always there

Tried desensitization for 1.5yrs & was unsuccessful (POIS worse at 1/1000)

Exercising- (running/weights/situps) Low sugar diet. Supplements- limited success.Meds- Oxcarbazepine/Buspar (past-Depakote10yrs)

Yeah, you should try it, Allesandro. It helped a lot of people here, for those who helped by it, it's like a miracle to them.

There are lots of theory out there in TheNakedSciestists and this forum. Some said that because of histamine release during Niacin flush which prevents inmune response against semen or histamine release when we have an orgasm. Some said that because the Niacin increased blood sugar before an orgasm. Some said that it's antidepressants. Some said that it's vasodilator. Some said that it prevents the adrenal surge that we all get upon orgasm, to conversion rate of noradrenaline, norepinephrine and then to adrenochrome. For me, I would choose adrenal surge theory :)

A lot of people here in this forum has been using Niacin ( pure- Niacin ) worked very well for them.

If you're interested in testosterone theraphy, you should contact with Demografx.

I'm a bit scared about flush because I suffer of panic attack.
What is the right dose not to have it?
If I buy nicotinamide is there a difference in the effect?

Hang in there man.

It's strange because I'll have another orgasm, the anxiety go away for another day, so I don't know if POIS is an allergic reaction...
For me is something linked with dopamine, serotonin or cortisol...

My worst symptom is stomach acidity (irritable bowel?) and I don't digest food... At night I feel bloated and my heart rate is high (maybe because of air pressure).
I clench teeth and I have nightmare (usually someone who wants to kill me).
In the days after orgasm I can't tolerate any form of stress because I start to build an internal tension with tight stomach and sweating.
I really want to find the cause of it.
At PC I'm hyperactive, I have a feeling of time urgency that I can't explain.

For GI problems, in the morning I have red pharynx and I almost can't stand up.
Is acidity an effect of anxiety or POIS?
