My current status
« on: July 01, 2013, 01:04:42 AM »
Hi all,

I posted on here nearly two years ago.  I am 25 and have suffered from POIS for about 4-5 years now and my understanding of it on a personal level continues to evolve.

My current regimen to tackle it is by thinking of it as related to my anxiety/depression, OCD, and mental state.  I overthink and overanalyze a lot and have been making huge efforts in recent months to think in more balanced, positive, and strong ways.  I have noticed an effect on my workouts, and I am getting a bit more social finally as well, following several years of relative isolation.

My current regimen includes:

-- Eating more (I only weigh about 120 lbs, so it is very difficult for me to gain weight)
-- 1 tsp of Spirulina and 1 tsp of Chlorella each morning (I think it is helping a bit with energy levels)
- 1 centrum equivalent multivitamin (I take half with breakfast, half later in the day)
- Regular workouts every couple of days at the gym (chest, abdominal, legs, etc)
- Sun exposure for Vitamin D (I am quite pale and burn easily, so I am taking in some sun in moderation every few days or so)
- Protein shakes
- Waking up earlier (I was waking up at 3 or 4pm.  Now waking before noon)

I still notice fatigue, lethargy, brain drain, etc the morning after ejaculation, but recovery time seems to be improving.  I have noticed that I am sometimes able to feel much better the evening after if I make a big effort to think positive, relax, and try to have fun throughout the day.

I want to focus more on getting quality sleep since I don't breathe perfectly through my nose due to a deviated septum surgery.  I also want to drink more water, and gain more weight.

I highly recommend the Spirulina and Chlorella powder.

I have a theory that all of my anxiety and OCF racing thoughts, etc tends to "drain" my brain of important chemicals and minerals and nutrients, and then ejaculation just depletes everything to dangerously low levels.  So if I can "replenish" these nutrients naturally by just thinking in healthier ways, instead of using antidepressants or other medications, then I should be able to bring my body back to a normal baseline.

Would sure like to be able to get this ejaculation stuff under control soon so I can get a girlfriend for once in my life and have a healthy sex life for once.

I have ejaculated two days in a row and woke up feeling tired and fatigued.  I drank some more water and just worked out and am feeling a lot better.  Just making an effort to relax and not try to think so hard, is doing wonders for me.  Also, I have recently learned  that I was breathing wrong while working out for all these years.  It is good to breathe in on the "off" rep and breathe out as you strain during the actual workout part.

I was waking up 3 or 4 pm for a looong time...... like several years (with some corporate work in between where i had to get up at 7am which was a living nightmare).  Now i am getting up more like noon and I can definitely tell that I feel better.

It is not easy to fix your sleep schedule but it requires some mental strength.  Just try to go to bed a little earlier, there's no other way around it.

The Spirulina and Chlorella are blue green algae foods in powder form.  They are completely safe and very natural.  They have long been touted in the science community as nature's super food, packed with a ton of minerals and nutrients.  They give this kind of stuff to impoverished nations and also to people who had radiation exposure.  It is not a magic bullet cure for anything, but you might notice some extra energy and clarity of thought, if you also combine it with other stuff like sun exposure, multivitaminsm improved sleep, balanced diet, exercise etc.  like I am doing

I can't say with 100% certainty that the powders are truly doing anything for me but they certainly cannot hurt.  I have been taking them for several weeks now and I seem to be thinking in more positive and balanced ways overall, also I do have some extra energy to clean up my apartment.

The mind is a powerful thing and can have dramatic effects on your wellbeing depending on whether you think in negative or positive or well balanced ways.

Count your blessings and relax!!
