Shower Gel Cured my Brain Fog?
« on: October 19, 2024, 08:20:53 AM »
Hello all,

So i am convinced that washing my hair with a certain type of shower gel, eliminates my brain fog and emotional instability. I am convinced that oil secreted during pois causes my head to overheat, and this shampoo i use keeps that oil to a minimum, keeping my heads natural cooling optimal.

I noticed a long time ago that rinsing my head with cold water, and letting it air dry, would reduce my cognitive and emotional pois symptoms for the duration of the wetness. I also noticed long ago how wearing a wet towel around my neck would produce the same effect.

Stupid as it sounds, I am convinced overheating of my brain causes my brainfog and emotional instability.

And stupid as it sounds, I am convinced that this shower gel has eliminated these symptoms for me.

I thought oily scalp was usually caused by DHT causing too much sebum. I get that too, especially when I was younger and I remember it made my hair really greasy. I think it's often linked with male pattern baldness. Some T converts to DHT. What makes you think your oily scalp is a symptom of pois?

Cold showers seem to get discussed on this forum quite a bit so you might want to look that up.

But, shower gel! I've not heard that one before. If it relieves an oily scalp that's great. But shower gel with brain cooling effect. That's one potent shower gel  ;D

Maybe some kind of scalp yeast/fungal infection?

I'm currently looking into Candida and fungal as playing a role in my POIS. I've had a long history of fungal problems.

I am doing "no poo" for many years now.

I am not using any body/consmetic product except aluminium anti transiparent under my arms.

If I shower daily in the morning, so far nobody complained about me  ;D

Maybe some kind of scalp yeast/fungal infection?

I'm currently looking into Candida and fungal as playing a role in my POIS. I've had a long history of fungal problems.

Personally I've had decades of derma issues, fungal infections, itchiness etc. ex/ white blotches on my chest and back. I don't know what causes all these things. I used to have intermittently very greasy hair until I lost most of it, severe cystic acne (especially on my back) well into my 30s, still get acne occasionally in my 50s. Admittedly MPB and acne are considered fairly common. I could do without the fungal white blotches and the itchiness but for me, it's not the worst aspect of pois (if due to pois?). Maybe all these things are due to a haywire hormonal or immune system?

Re Candida, I explored that too. There seems to be quite a lot about that online but from what I've read, it's another of these things that seems to be hard to test for, that's supposed to get worse before it gets better (another "paradoxical reaction") etc. I used monolaurin and various other supplements for a while but it didn't seem to do anything much long term in my case so I abandoned that idea.

I would say Vit D3 has possibly helped me most with derma issues.
For a topical treatment I find ketaconozole shampoo works pretty well for skin fungus (which is what my doctor prescribed me).

I'm yet to try the OP's shampoo brand. Maybe he'd like to share the name of the brand with us?

That's good you feel better after your shower with this shower gel Myagi. I'll probably stick with my ketaconozole shampoo for now but maybe I might try the one you recommend sometime. Best wishes with fixing your pois.
