GLC, I wish I had the willpower to do that.

Maybe I wouldn't be so tethered to TRT!

10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business

Hi guys! First i'd like to apologize for not connecting more often lately. The reason is that i don't wanted to think about Pois so much. But now i have some good news: I'm 90% cured!!! My biggest symptom was the headache i suffered in all my scalp after having an O. That headache lasted for hours and days and also caused me psychological symptoms. So, how i got cured? You wouldn't guess it: i had a total tonsillectomy. I always had what they call "cryptic tonsils" or "tonsils stones". You can check that on Google. It's kind of disgusting. I told my doctor about it and he says "it's not possible for a tonsillectomy to improve headache symptoms". Look, i don't care what he thinks about it LOL (i still think he is a great doctor). What i know is that now after the O. i don't have that debilitating headache anymore!!! I still have some stomach issues, but my main problem was the headache, and that is gone!

So, here are the hypothesis:

1) Tonsillectomy is good for Pois sufferers who have cryptic tonsils/tonsil stones. ---> this one is very likely
2) Tonsillectomy is good for Pois sufferers even if they have no problems with tonsils. (tonsils are lymphoid tissue)  ---> this one is not so likely
3) The antibiotics they gave me after the tonsillectomy were the reason for the headaches cure. ---> i don't know.
4) I had an underlying Sleep Apnea and I didn't know, and the tonsillectomy improved that ---> i don't know if i had a sleep apnea, but it's a possibility.

So, i hope you tell me your thoughts about it!  :)
My tonsils were removed almost 6 years ago. Since then I had far less throat problems and almost no sinusitis. Before the operation I had a lot of throat problems and sinsitis because of POIS.

But even without my tonsils maybe I have sleep apnea. Because I sweat a lot and I wake up a few times during sleep. And I wake up with a dry mouth.
POIS since 2000. Very bad since 2008. I knew that I have POIS since June 2010. Desensitization since March 2011. I stopped with desens in July 2016. I have 50% less POIS. And only 1 day of POIS. Purified CBD works for me, but I am allergic for CBD.

I've been getting tonsil stones a bit more than usual - I used to get them every few years, but now I have some persistent ones. If I fast for awhile, they pretty much go away, but come back when I eat.

Quantum - I tend to agree with the immune hypothesis. Most of my symptoms seem related or exacerbated by immune response. It started after getting sick while traveling, but then worsened over the years with everything from stressful situations to being around cats and dogs (bad allergies). Unfortunately the reaction is often long lasting or permanent - I've had all kinds of muscular issues recently even when not in POIS, but they're magnified during that period.

Does anyone have thoughts on how to improve immune function over the long term? I eat a very careful diet, methylation support, probiotics, etc.

Hi hapl,

To improve the immune system you could also work on improving your sleep quality and trying an Immune Competence Therapy.

nanna, I get confused on immune system terminologies (and I suspect everyone else is), I think you can perhaps help us understand:

1. What exactly would be meant, by "improving immune system".  Is that increasing TReg cells?  Is that decreasing TReg cells?  or maintaining them at x units?
2. I think if we can get this for every critically significant Innate vs Adaptive components. That would be so helpful.
