Prostate
« on: April 04, 2011, 07:30:50 AM »
The interactions between POIS and my prostate seem to go in phases.

Right now I'm in a phase where it's acting up. This comes just on the change of seasons too, and I sort of wonder if there's some kind of link, although most likely it's just coincidense.

There's a bunch of things going on "in the area". Several years ago, I had the same set of things too. Swollen prostate, sore bladder to the touch (pressure on the abdomen) swollen testicles, etc. At that time I went and had al the tests done, which came out with shining colors. It was hard to believe, maybe the worst they had to say was that the prostate was slightly large, but within normal.

I have had a light restriction of urine flow, for about two months now, then recently had problems with hard stools, which hardly ever happens to me. This caused hemorrhoids, which infects/swells the area, and also exagerates the protate condision, leading to the same symptoms that I mentioned earlier.

Each time, we wonder and worry that "something else is going on". cancer, whatever. In my case, I also have a couple of places on the testicle itself that become very sensitive to the touch. These same points, thelast time that I went to the docter, had him worried, and he made the tests for cancer too. But nope! Pure POIS.

This was recently confirmed, as I was having all of these symptoms again. Right up to the sensitive places on the testicle. I'm just about ready to go to the doctor, when within 2 days, on day 14 and dat 15, it got almost completely better. (only slight swelling of the prostate, but greatly reduced).

However, I'm day 1 today, sigh! and I can feel all this stuff coming back! Particularly sore bladder area and swollen prostate.
WITHOUT RESEARCH THERE WILL BE NO CURE!
Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!

I have this too. I thought one testicle grew after an O. But I think it's a swollen prostate. I also have a burning feeling in the penis. When my GP checks my urine he always finds a small part of protine. That's why he give me antiobiotics. After a week I am ok. Without antibiotics it takes weeks to recover.

POIS since 2000. Very bad since 2008. I knew that I have POIS since June 2010. Desensitization since March 2011. I stopped with desens in July 2016. I have 50% less POIS. And only 1 day of POIS. Purified CBD works for me, but I am allergic for CBD.

I think the entire area down there becomes inflamed during POIS, at least that's what it feels like. Lately it's been burning more and more when I urinate and it hurts to poop too since i think my anus is inflamed.
Taking ginger tea, no wheat, fenugreek+green tea/garlic, saw palmetto, niacin, boswellia, huperzine, B complex and nutmeg. See my treatment summary post for more info: http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=81.msg3513#msg3513

Now my prostate problem is bigger than my POIS. If I don’t have a prostate infection I only have 1day of POiS. And I can have two O’s in a week wirhout big problems. But when my prostate is infected I will get sick for 1 or 2 weeks after an O. Not because of POIS bur because the prostate infection. My esophagus gets very dry. After that my throat, mouth and nose alos get dry. And later also infected.

I am thinking about to ask my doctor for an Aplha Blocker. I know there are a lot of side effects. But the antibiotics doesn’t help anymore. Even if I stay out of for 6 weeks. Did anyone used Alpha Blockers before? I hope they will help against Prostatitis. Not against POIS.

An alpha blocker wouldn't fit for me, because it lowers blood pressure, and POIS causes me low blood pressure.    However, some POISers have high BP instead of low BP like myself, but some others have low BP in POIS, like me.

I wonder if IgG4-RD plays a role in POIS. I've got a higher level of IgG4 than the upper limits of IgG4 deficiency tests are using and could be a sign IgG4-RD involvement. To the point, have you ever been checked for IgG4 levels vandemolen? Maybe you have IgG4-related prostatitis. You could try out some steroids, discuss this with your doctor. Interesting:
''Radiologic evidence suggestive of involvement of the superior vena cava[13] and seminal vesicle[60] has been reported in confirmed cases of IgG4-RD.''  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IgG4-related_disease

Wikipedia: ''It is a relapsing-remitting disease associated with a tendency to mass forming''. Also mechanical restriction/obstruction is possible.

I'm thinking what if these inflitrates/lesions are destroying surface barrier functions of organs/tissue. Sperm may leak through causing reactions. A mast cell disorder is also high on my list.

I don’t think I’ve been tested on IgG4-RD. I will ask my doctor. Thanks. There are men with prostatitis who were cured with prednisolon. So I will for that or for the alpha blockers.

IgG4 levels depend on the intensity of symptoms at the moment of testing. I would do a blood test first before starting with meds. You will need a test which uses a cut-off value above 135 mg/dl. I believe AMC Amsterdam has new techniques for measuring high levels >600 mg/dl, not sure about this I've read something like that on the web years ago. Your doctor who did the desensitization told me in 2015 he was trying to get these IgG sub class tests for his department, don't know if they are available yet, ask him.

I have Candida because of the antibiotics. Just found out that Candida also gives you prostate problems. So I will start antibiotics before I get rid of the Candida.
