Hi Clyde, and everyone,
Sorry to disappoint you, but I learned we are not registered as a non-profit organization ( this would imply that we have a president, a board, and would have to comply with all of incorporation rules, which is a lot of work for our scarce resources).
This fund will help only non-profit organizations, not individuals, or groups of individuals, like us.
The fund also aims at causes touching the largest number of people, such as giving clean water to people in Africa, supporting a group who try to develop a health coverage system for everybody, or an organization developing access to education, and so on.... so, going for a rare disorder is unlikely. So far, if you look those who have received 1M, it's about basic survival needs ( clear water, building affordable homes for the homeless, etc...), and basic social needs ( health care, education, etc...). That does not mean POIS is not a worthy cause, but we are not the typical cause of this fund, judging by the list of charities that have been supported so far.
