This is all very interesting news! FB, Quantum, Vincent M: Do any of you know what options exist for those of us who live in the U.S. and don't have access to Mytelase? Huperzine A appears to be available over the counter? Are there other over-the-counter or prescription versions available in the US?

Thanks!
Experienced POIS since 2002.
My symptoms include: brain fog, depression, physical and mental fatigue, memory problems, social anxiety, concentration problems, myalgia, inflammation.

Hi Hoping,

To my knowledge, Huperzine A is the only cholinesterase inhibitor available over the counter.

Well, I looked everywhere online, and Mytelase is very difficult to get hold of, unless you travel to France and buy it there like FloppyBanana :)

As Mytelase is a Acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, maybe another drug in the same class would have a similar effect?

Rivastigmine (Exelon), Donepezil (Aricept) and Galantamine (Razadyne) are all available on prescription as anti-Alzheimers medication.

For those who have experimented with mytelase, what's your regimen? Outsider's original post said he takes 60mg per day with a meal. Is that what you do as well? You just take it daily, and don't necessarily time the medication with an O?

hurray: are you located in the US? Are those medications you listed available without a prescription?

Hi Hoping, no I'm in the UK. Those medications and Mytelase are all prescription medicines. I edited my original post.

Finding a doctor willing to prescribe anti-alzheimers drugs for POIS would probably be difficult, however.

for some reason you can get galantamine over the counter too , you can check amazon.com.

Thank you for noticing that CertainlyPOIS, very interesting.

Apparently Galantamine is both an OTC supplement and a prescription medicine! The doses and ingredients of both seem to be identical.

I have ordered some Galantamine already, I'm looking forward to seeing if it has any effect on my POIS symptoms.
