Hey guys,
I'm currently on my 2nd day of celexa and I feel unmotivated and numb. Time will tell if it works for me as SSRIs reportedly have for others in thia forum. I have also tried adderall and it didn't do much. My issue is constant and is mentally and physically debilitating, The POIS makes it worse.
I'm wondering what other medications have been tried and what the result was of them. I highly believe our neurotransmitters are off due to precursors and trying to find a medication to stabalize them without having to take something too strong.
Has anyone tried Wellbutrin? Obviously Niacin helps a bit but for some of us its not enough. Cmon guys, lets get this going.

Sameer777, I see man. Sorry to hear that. Tell me, How long did you take the medication? And are you back to feeling the way you felt before you took the medication?
I'm also wondering if anyone in the forum has tried a histamine agonist since niacin, a histamine booster, has worked a great deal.

Jon I would recommend you to try having a single orgasm in the morning immediately after you wake up...it helps me...it boosts my serotonin levels which is a neurotransmitter...try it but after that avoid arousals and O's later for some days...

anti histamines have helped a number of our members reduce their POIS dramatically including myself. Claritin and Benadryl (the generic versions of them) work great for my physical symptoms and work somewhat well for my cognitive symptoms. Niacin, a Godsend! For me it's made 100% difference.
I've also found that the flush isn't necesary, although with the flush, the outcome is more definite.
On only one of my attempts and on a full stomach (well recent consumption, not FULL), I had zero flush, so didn't even try an orgasm.
On about half of the tests I felt that I got close to the flush, maybe feel slight priclky sensations on the skin or a slightly altered heart rate, but no red or heated skin. On those occasions the niacin worked as well. Seems like getting close to the flush or better is enough for it to work.
It leaves me practically POIS free. I've begun to notice that whereas I though I was completely POIS free, that on day 2, maybe 3 I get some muscle tiredness, but that's the LEAST of my worries.
It cleans up the blahs those first days, ALL brainfog and any tendancy toward depression or letahary. And besides that I feel generally younger, healthier a sort of springtime feeling.
Don't know whay anyone would waste their time with anything else... But that's just me.
The only downside, is that you have to plan. One hour before. Sometimes you might not know when it's one hour before. And also you can;t eat for at least 4 hours ahead. I sort of feel that it might be more than eating. It's almost like if the liver is busy or something there;s less effect. In the morning the does can be much less for a good flush.
And in my opinion, the flush is actually enjoyble, ennvigorating.

daveman , can u send me the picture of the niacin you taking how much mg you taking , i am looking for the med still did not find it , so i might order online , the gnc people told me that they will get it for me , but they ask me with flush or without and the mg they have is starting from 250 what should i do ?????

Omen, thats definately interesting I may give it a try but I will have to wait without sexual activity quite some time before I try that.
Daveman, Thats great to hear. Good for you !
Niacin has also helped me but inconsistently. I usually would have to take about 400 or 500 mg to feel anything and the results were mininal. The only time I can say it helped it the last time i took it and I may have semi overdosed. I took about 500 mg and become so dizzy and weak i almost passed out. I had to eat some sugar. I did feel mentally better than usual after that orgasm though and could definately think clearer. I have not since had an orgasm because this is the best I have been in some time.
The thing about my problem though is its constant. Different symptoms have branched off over time and all are affected directly by sexual activity somehow. I have felt sort of 'weak' mentally and physically for 8 years and recently have become so disoriented with things. The trouble thinking/paranoia/dullness has made all my physical symptoms (which are many), at one time extremely important, almot seem unimportant at this point. With these problems has gone my libido, mind you I'm 24 and had this since 16. I hardly even get aroused.
My doctor suggested benadryl so i think I may give that a shot. My main problem is that although these things can dampen the symptoms of my overall problem, I feel like my engine turned off some years back and has continued to deteriorate since that point.
I am going to be trying some medications so I will keep you guys posted..

what is benadryl ??????????

what is benadryl ??????????
benadryl (generic is diphenhyramine) is an antihistamine that suppresses allergies. It helps reduce my POIS greatly when I take it about 1 hr before an orgasm.
Here is a link to a picture of a box of benadryl where you could buy it on amazon.com:

thankyou vincent , but why anti allergy is working ??? strange ?????????

Perhaps, but you have to remember that many people believe POIS to be caused by an autoimmune reaction and allergies which involve histamine are similar to autoimmune reactions.

does that mean allergy to our skin or what from sperm ??????????

Hey guys, Does anyone's cognitive symptoms include an unexplained paranoia? Like theres more going on than there should be and especially around people? Like theres almost a threat around people and your internal alarm always going off. Not anxiety and not quite like schizophrenia either. Really unexplained. This is constant for me and its hell..
I am currently taking Niacin works a little for me. I tried Benadryl and it seemed to calm my physical symptoms down more than usual and the cognitive a little but not as much as the Niacin.

And same with banadryl ????
-
does that mean allergy to our skin or what from sperm ??????????
I think it's an allergy to some part of our semen that occurs when the semen mixes with our blood stream somehow during ejaculation.
-
If it is what you say then banadryl can help I think ????

Sameer, I moved this here. Please try not to start a whole new thread for each and every new post that you have. Look for a good place to put it first. The idea is that new threads should only be started for more extensive themes.
As far as Naproxen, it's an anti-inflamatory, but does have the tendancy to be very hard on the stomach and liver. It would probably be better to use it less regularly.
Doctor Goldmeier recomended a more specific anti-inlamatory to one of our newer memebers, I'm not sure where the post is right now, but something like that might be more directly applicable to the POIS situation. He mentioned that it DOES require a perscription.
