Nightmares of masturbating?
« on: March 20, 2013, 08:29:04 PM »
Masturbating to me is a huge taboo with POIS. There's feelings of immediate regret and immediate punishment.

Occasionally I would have nightmares of masturbating and cumming, with no girls present. Then I would wake up feeling guilty and upset, finding out that it was just in my head. No nocturnal emissions, thankfully.

Does anyone have nightmares of this?

Well I see what you mean and have definitely gone through that.  The key thing here is to remember that masturbation, sex, whatever it may be... is a totally normal process of the human body, as normal as eating and drinking.  I think we just need to keep our minds off of POIS as much as possible and just try to relax about it.  There is absolutely no need to feel guilty, you are not being punished for anything, POIS is just something "off" with our bodies.  Just try not to think about it too much, that is why I only go on this site after I have "O'd", I try not to think about it all the time.
My POIS managed with Diet (@ diet that 100% manages my pois)Believe my POIS stems from inflammation in the gut. O = neuro POIS from inflammation from the gut

supps: microdose zyrtec if needed for food sens. ibuprofen for infl. as needed. Melatonin as needed. Big Pinch Black cumin  seeds once daily

I know there were a few remedies that help reduce libido.... don't remember what they were. Maybe a search on this site for libido might produce something.

Techniques for lucid dreaming could help, but they are somewhat difficult. Especially when the dream is "so encompassing". It's a matter of triggering yourself in some way to recognize that you are dreaming. The problem with dreams, is that they don't seem like dreams, even when you say (is this a dream?) You think about it and say, "No". It always seems so real. I use some kind of a test, one that "if it were NOT a dream, would not be possible, like floating or something, or asking your partner "if this is a dream?".

Once you know it is a dream, you can do what ever you want. Fly to the clouds, or fly to escape HER ::) :P

WITHOUT RESEARCH THERE WILL BE NO CURE!
Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!

Thanks for the reply , i searched on the internet and i found that they make some drugs especially for reducing the libido as also soy but i dont like taking drugs only if it is crucial.

The problem that i face with erotic dreams is that they happen so quickly and by the time i realise its a dream and i have to wake up, the erection has already reached its climax and
the dream has finished and the harm has already been made

POIS is really hitting us in our weakness points, sometimes i think i am in a deadline like there is no other option, sometimes this disorder seems so cruel and unfair...

Hi Chris18,

If I remember correctly, you're just about 18 y/o -- an age when hormones and sexual impulses are flying high.  The nighttime erections and sexual dreams are so entirely normal!

"Lucid dreaming" is very likely not the answer to your situation.  This is a technique that needs to be mastered and requires major focus. (It's too bad that it's not easy to learn-- we could all benefit by using it!)

Many men on this forum have been where you are now and have lived through it -- some surprisingly well.

I'm thinking of demografx in particular, who has openly shared that he's suffered from POIS since puberty. He somehow managed to became a successful businessman, get married and father two sons (both healthy, and now adults) -- all while struggling with POIS and not even having a name for the condition. He (or others) may have some words of wisdom to impart, based on their own experiences.

There is nothing to compare to the support that comes from someone who has personally experienced what another is now experiencing -- and gotten through it.

You've said it right, Chris18 -- this disorder is very cruel and unfair.

One day the cause and the treatment(s) will be discovered, so don't lose hope! But in the meantime -- if anyone has suggestions for an 18-year-old with POIS -- now's the time to speak up (even if by PM if necessary)!!

Stef

Lets hope that the whole NORD program will work and that all this waiting is worthy. And that the researchers after making the preparations and start working on it, will eventually manage with time to at least find what POIS is and even better a solution/treatment that will benefit most of the sufferers not to mention everyone.Thats what i'm counting on and my basic motive on my life at the moment. It would be a big disappointment if this NORD case fails really.

Its true that there are people here who have managed to live with their disorder and even to make their lives and i am no selfish or ignorant not to think about them and not only them  but also other people who have similar awful health problems when i have difficult times. But what its depressing me is that i have a really bad form of POIS, i might take even three weeks with abstinence to eliminate my symptoms which will eventually be back again from the start like i'am trapped on a cycle with the symptoms being exclusively strong cognitive and mental which make me even impossible to exist. If they lasted for 2 or 3 days i would be pheew a lot better and calm obviously and probably wouldnt even discuss it but its just that i have really bad form.

I am now following a routine that it has make my life somewhat more liveable, a strict/difficult routine, put my hopes on the NORD program and wait for a solution.

It takes several weeks for me to feel better too, even if only 40-50%ish better. (Strong to severe cognitive symptoms are almost exclusively what I deal with also.) I'm very hopeful that the NORD program will work. Like Daveman said, it's like waiting for Christmas or something! But it will probably be worth it in the end. There's no sense in taking any chances with any other potential cures until our cure is the one that comes from the NORD effort (and hopefully from the best of the best).

Please NORD!  :-*

One way pr another it just has to be better than now.

Let's say they only find a common biomarker... a thing that happens medically with ALL POISers and not with non-POISers. I don't mean symptoms, but like something in the blood or seen in tests with control groups. That would be a great advance.

With that, POIS is on the map and is taken off of the psychaiatrists list. No more SSRIs, no more endles psycchiatric treatments, no more blank stares when we walk into an office.

And maybe at first, they still won't know exactly how to treat it, but now many more researchers will become attracted to it. Experts in the area indicated by the biomarkers.

It won't be as dubious or doubtfull. There'll be more interst both for investment/donations and for researchers to take it on  (because it's real, and because it's closer to viable).

And then we could get lucky, and even come up with much greater clues for remedies. We ourselves would not have to wonder if it's something that started when we ate sugar just after masturbating with one hand and patting our head with the other, or  think that maybe it's a lack of salt in the blood or excess of copper or some other silly thing.

It's well worth doing!
