I am now reaching a hole month without O.The longest period i 've gone is two months..how long you guys have gone ?Is there anyone who has decided to abstain from having O's and manage to achieve it for 3 or 6 months or maybe a year ?I am very curious...

I've gone 5 months without masturbating at one point, but it required a vegan diet(to reduce libido), no access to porn, and a poor heating system that left the house cold all the time(also reduced libido). During this time I had a nocturnal emission every 2-4 weeks depending on various factors including whether I had become sexually excited during the day, how full my bladder and stomach were before sleep, and how long I slept for.

I now only have the willpower to go a few days without masturbating. Perhaps a chronic state of inflammation from POIS has made my genitals more easily excitable.

Chris I thought abstaining from sex would clear me from this condition but all it does is make your body want sex so badly. I think it is way better to set aside a schedule for "O'ing" and maybe find something on this forum that works for you. I "O" usually about 3 times on friday nights and usually i take something such as olive leaf extract to help me with POIS.

Yes, I think that's a good idea, better to try to space yourself out and plan breaks, but otherwise let yourself go to the urge. We are humans and
abstinence isn't one of our strong suits.

A good rest from POIS every once in a while can do the head a lot of good. Come back to who you really are and remind yourself that the rest is POIS.

We sometimes forget.

I follow this way now as i feel i have no choice..POIS has destroyed my youth years and has harm me a lot.. I am now 18 and i want to live a normal life! I am not gonna let that happen anymore..I am so mentally and physically drained that i dont have the power to overcome another POIS period..My POIS period last 3 to 4 weeks with devastating cognitive problems(I cannot even speak or think in this days like i am mute or a psychopath)..So i prefer to abstain than make my life hell for a month..I know abstinence isnt our strong part but with so many efforts in the past trying to maintain abstinence, i now have the power to keep it although its extremely difficult..I can even say that it has become the biggest fear in my life so thats why i said i feel like i have no choice..Hope there will be a cure for everyone here quick but it seems very unreal at this moment..I believe there is plenty of work to do and we are just in the beginning unfortunately..

We feel your pain. Sometimes I just want to give up, and just sleep. Because nothing is going on up there, I feel... empty.

Guys, come on, don't give up!
We are humans (not animals), we can choose what to do and what not to do. I know sometimes it's very difficult to abstain, but it's the only way I've found to keep me POIS free.
I generally abstain from two to four months. It was very difficult in the beginning but it has given me excellent results.
Anyway, I don't want to live this way forever, that's why we need to keep on working to find a cure. And we all know the best way is by serious research.So please, consider donating to NORD.

I tried abstaining for 3 weeks ; longest p?riode ever ; didn't help that much ; I kept being in a medium state POIS ; some days almost 90% recovered and some other, especialy after a night with sexual dreams, felling like 70%POIS + a lot of tension due to abstinence ;

I think its good to have a "reset" regularly to be 100% recovered ; otherwise your body/brain get much more sensitive to POIS

In my case, after a week or two I have no symptoms, that's why I generally prefer to abstain for several months.

Lately,i 've realised after experimenting that one day after an O and with perfect diet cause me only 20 % - 30% POIS but if i orgasm more times then POIS intense will be much much worse.The strangest thing about my POIS is that it gets worse after 2 or 3 days and then remains like this for a week.So one O per day before i go to sleep and next day i' m quite qood.So luckily i have a slight relieve without drugs and i dont have to push myself in any abstances.My advice for you is to experiment or try to find a temporary solution which ever works for you and also keep a good diet and exercise,it will relieve you.Cause abstinence isnt a choice believe me.

I once achieved 10 months without an O.But later life throwed at me more obstacles, like an Inflamatory Bowel Disease, suffering upper back pain for over 3 years, Cushing syndrome (drug induced) etc. The worst part were the incompetent doctors (that almost killed me with drugs that cause cancer like Remicade). After many misfortunes I got soft and succumbed to the POIS cycle again, with stronger symptoms than ever. The brain's dopamine receptors ─ the pleasure-reward system─ is activated during sex (like drugs). In theory ,quitting sex is like quitting crystal meth, or harder.

Is there a reason you guys aren't trying Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatories? They were my go-to method for eliminating my symptoms before I started desens. They really worked for me. (And still do, although the success of my treatment has really allowed me to cut back.)

I do actually use keteprophen and so far it's eliminate about 50% of the symtoms ; it seems to work better combined with a beta blockers
