I don't know what to do about depression. I think the garlic and fenugreek is lessening my depression a tiny bit but I'm not sure. I've definitely been more productive since I've been taking it.

What I usually do when I'm depressed is play a vidgame, watch vids on utoob or other shows online, ect.

adultsim.com has some good shows and funny cartoons on it. Runescape is a fun game to play online for free. And there's a lot of free music and even some full movies on utoob.

With POIS, even completely mentally healthy people can have depressive problems to varying degrees after orgasm. I imagine it would have to be worse for those who may suffer or normally have to treat depressive problems outside of POIS.

Many have tried to aleviate their symptoms with anti-depresants, but they don't seem to provide much releif although each case could be different. Perhaps it would be worth having a doctor perscribe an anti-depressant, and do some tests to see if there is some releif.

I also have strange sensations in my scalp, and sometimes I have to sleep a lot, among others.
A thing to try is to avoid as much as possible O's. But it is not a definite solution, because what you do with night emissions, even if you don't masturbate.
It seems that dr. Waldinger managed to find a possible cure. Have you sent him an e-mail?.. he said he will sent us his latest articles.

Exactly, the same thing was happening to me. I would have never believe that garlic will be a cure for this. But trust me, it was, maybe for a limited time depending the amount you take. The same can be said about fenugreek(Which as I've said works as a preventive method too). Your mind is more focused and those negative thoughts could be "there" but you simply don't take any attention to them--- just like when you are in a good mental health.

is there anybody here who has tried to ejaculate without orgasm, or, reversely, reach orgasm without ejaculation? If so, did you experience POIS symptoms then?

And what about trying to reach orgasm/ejaculation without any mental stimulation, i.e. just to think about non-explicit/non-pornographic things like nature and masturbate till orgasm? There could be some connection between POIS and the intensity of specific brain centers' stimulation.

I know demo was able to achieve orgasm without ejaculation after practice, but it didn't help his POIS at all.

I had one day an orgasm while i was dreaming and i just instantly wake up but i didn´t have an ejaculation so i suppose that was a dry orgasm. I didn´t have POIS after this episode.

Interesting. This shows that there's a physical link between ejaculation and POIS for you.

I'm the opposite. I can get aroused and have nothing happen to me, and yet I'll feel my voice change a bit. Recovery is much quicker, maybe a day vs 2wks from POIS, but it's still there.

I have had this as well. In fact, I dealt with it for many years in therapy. I thought it was normal.

I believe the general negativity and depression come from a chemical imbalance that's part of POIS brainfog. I've noticed it goes away with POIS going away, so I remind myself of that now when this happens to me.

It's strange that our names are the same and we both run into this--weird!

I think there is really a problem with serotonin. I think the Pois may cause a trouble with serotonin production.

Do you feel depressed when you have a normal flu ? It's important to compare normal flu to your Pois symptoms.

Some members think they have benefits with Niacin. Niacin may work by helping serotonin production, I'm curently retesting it.

You really need to stop taking all the various medications and let your body balance itself out. Eating normally and balanced will get you to some sort of stable spot and then you can go from there.

Depression can be countered by eating the right foods. I dealt with cogniative depression for well over a decade, and food is a big part of it. Eating naturally releases 'good feeling' hormones, so eating is important. And if you eat the right things that help your pois, that will help your pois as well.
