My exprience
« on: February 15, 2025, 10:53:01 AM »
I've struggling with POIS for more than 15 years. My symptoms are fatigue, brain fog, tired eyes and somtimes aching eyes. First I had these symptoms only after masturbation but over time they got severe and suddenly I started to have nocturnal emission every nights and had also the symptoms after wet dreams. since then I've taken a wide range of antideprasants to stop wet dreams and cure Pois but nothing cured it except decreasing the numbers of wet dreams. I took suplements and antihistamine whithout effects. I've recently taken Nortriptyline which reduce my symtoms and recovery days from 7 days to three days but it stopped working after 5 months although i increased the dosage. And then i decided to cut out antideprasants gradully because i think my memory is not as sharp as the past but now i consume low dosage of Nortriptyline  my nocturnal emission start to increase. My symtoms take 7 days to fade if i masturbate and 3 days if i have a wet dream. Do any one have any advice?
A list of drugs i remember i took:
Citalopram
Escitalopram
WELLBAN
Haloperidol
duloxetine
Lithium
Venlafaxine
fluoxetine
Modafinil
Imipramine
Retalin

First of all let me welcome you to the forum!

As you had some success with Nortriptyline, I think you should check out this thread about norepinephrine.
https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=4666.0

Maybe you could combine nortriptyline with some mountain honey, whatever that is. Alternatively you could also switch to milnacipran if that is available there, though its efficacy may be lesser than of nortriptyline's. I haven’t tried either, but I had some positive experience with venlafaxine in the past and more recently I found yohimbine/rauwolscine capsules and naphazoline eye drops to be relatively useful. I had some success with saffron and dextromethorphan as well, which both seem to have an effect on norepinephrine reuptake, thus they could be taken into consideration.
I am also struggling with developing drug resistance all the time. However drug resistance also seems to decrease over time. Maybe you could skip nortriptyline for a while then return after a few months to see if it may work again. If drug resistance does not develop sooner then you may be able to use it effectively for a few months at least.
Besides norepinephrine you could also seek other ways to reduce the inflammation, though this is really hard to do, as the inflammation is just that strong to not make this easy.

By the way have you found any use for Ketotifen so far?
The cause is probably a combination of autoimmunity and SASP leading to excessive oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation. Antioxidants, testosterone, NO and norepinephrine boosters, ERbeta, sigma-1, SIRT-1 and dopamine agonists, PDE4, PDE5 inhibitors and CD36 antagonists are effective.

I've still taken ketotifen for a week and ithink I need to wait more to see its effects. I live in Iran and I talked to him online and he accepted to prescribe me xolair but i postponed my appointment until to see the effect of ketotifen and mybe before that I tried a kind of traditional massage of veins. My brother managed to cure his psoriasis by it but it takes tme. About my brother it takes a month. Maybe it has effect on POIS.
