Neutrophils
« on: November 21, 2024, 05:46:24 AM »
Some poisers report having low neutrophils. I wonder what % and I wonder how this compares with the general population. Let's find out. One vote per user which you can change, open ended poll.
For reference ranges, there seems to be very small differences from lab to lab. I suggest to vote based on what the lab told you or if in doubt, here's a typical reference range which the lab used for my blood test:-
normal (2 to 7 10⁹/L)
low (< 2 10⁹/L)
high (> 7 10⁹/L)

Is this equivalent to https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=3392 or only similar question?

Thanks for the link Berlin. I didn't spot that WBC poll.
I think it's similar but not equivalent. Your neutrophils count forms a large part of your WBC count but is not the same as your WBC count.
It's a pity to only get a sample size of 15 votes (when you see how many members there are on this forum) so as someone has said, you can't read too much into that but I believe that result implies a higher % of poisers have low WBC than in the general population.

I think I'll leave the neutrophils poll up to make it specifically about neutrophils, high as well as low as options. Hope that makes sense.

I discovered that a lot of us have neutropenia or near to it.
Nanna1 put it in table (it is rare), but not all poisers have it!

Thanks Hopeoneday for finding the neutropenia correlation!
Two last members posted low white blood tests-...According to mayo clinic-
https://www.mayoclinic.org/symptoms/low-white-blood-cell-count/basics/causes/sym-20050615
...
The above chart shows the prevalence of low neutrophil levels (neutropenia) for individuals in the United States of America (USA) according to ethnicity (Hispanic 0.38%, white 0.79%, black 4.5%) and individuals with POIS (60%) from this forum. The data for neutropenia in the USA was taken from "Prevalence of neutropenia in the U.S. population: age, sex, smoking status, and ethnic differences."

From all medicall tests results posted till now, 80-90% of posers hawe
neutropenia or lower end neutrophils count, in healthy individuals it is exact
dioposite, neutrophils count should be the largest amoung other white blod cells.

Hey Hopeoneday. Nice chart  ;).
It would be good to see something like this but with a larger sample size because 6 people isn't enough.

Hi Hopeoneday.
I found your chart interesting. In particular, I wonder why a higher % of people with black skin have low neutrophils than people with white skin or Hispanics? Do you think it would be of interest to know if poisers of any demographic with neutropenia have something in common genetically with people with black skin with neutropenia? Also, would it be interesting to know the demographic of poisers with neutropenia? Maybe you've looked into these things already?

On medical test results topic:
I found 13 from 14 hawe neutropenia or low end neutrophils count.
Found 9 others who reported low white blood cells.

From thouse 9 who reported low white blood cells,
i can bet 99% of them are low neutrophil count, neutropenia.

Exemple, result 3,6 from range 3,5-7 is considered in range,
normall, but actualy it is not normall to hawe lower end neutrophils
count.
This neutrophils count data talk something to us, it is repeating in
poisers.

Now, on medical test results topic, from 23 separate immune
blod test, 22 hawe low neutrophils count, neutropenia, low white
blood cells.

This poll is exact the oposite allredy, 3 normal, 2 low, 1 neutral?
How this can be the oposite on this pool?

Pois people want magic pill, but do not want to post simple blood
tests results like differential white blood test?

I do not get this realy! We should hawe allredy min 1000 blood
tests result on medical test results topic till now!
But no, i am waiting for magic pill :o
