I have cut down on meat and mostly have the major animal protein from fish or eggs. If I eat pork I boil it for two hours to make it easy digested. But there are many vegan protein alternatives like hemp- soy-, rice- and pea protein. I buy nutritional protein powder with any of those proteins and sometimes those protein powders are the only thing I can eat due to my leaky gut/SIBO that worsens during pois. Millet and oat also contain about 11 g protein per 100 g. I prefeer millet porridge since oat is acid to the body. Candida overgrowth is one of my major issues and I dont know if its caued by pois or a long term acidifying diet or stress.
