10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business

Hi Drew,
Whatever you decide, I suggest you read the second part of my post there, about what to expect from a medical consultation for POIS:  http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2392.msg20182#msg20182

This may help keep reasonable expectations.   As you may know, most doctors and specialists have very imited knowledge about POIS, if any at all.

Also, another resource is the POIS Doctor List, a list of specialists and doctors who knows about POIS:
 https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2575.msg22338#msg22338

You are 100% responsible for what you do with anything I post on this forum and of any consequence it could have for you.  Forum rule: ""Do not use POISCenter as a substitute for, or to give, medical advice" Read the remaining part at http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=1.msg10259#msg10259

Quantum, thanks for those helpful links to Drew. I will use them on future posts.

Drew, many thanks for your cooperation! This is something all of us tend to do (to seek and offer advice)

Best regards,
Demo

Neurologists will not be helpful, all they'll be able to do is compare your POIS to migraines which isn't helpful. If you have autonomic dysfunction then a vascular neurologist who specialises in autonomic dysfunction could be helpful.

For POIS if I were you I would either see an immunologist, endocrinologist, mcas specialist or internal medicine dr, functional medicine practitioner

I don't really see how asking for an opinion about what doctor he should see counts as medical advice, GPs have no clue and its not like he's asking for which drug or treatment to try which would be an issue.

Good point Iwillbeatthis. Will re-consider. Thank you.

I’m reminded of a recent event, when I asked my PCP - primary care physician (not a lay person) if I should see an endocrinologist or a urologist.

Maybe with POIS (poor PCP awareness) that’s different, so thanks again for food for thought.

It's not that Neurologists aren't helpful, they 100% should be since our symptoms are strongly neurological. It's that neurologists are the least informed about POIS unfortunately, due to the lack of neurological research on POIS.
