It's possible it's a secondary outcome of POIS due to you literally being able to do a lot less and witnessing your potential withering away and very little research and treatment and even awareness of your condition being available no wonder that such thing happens when going through all that.

Yes, it could be. But many people experience emotional issues while on POIS, for me, I feel depressed immediately after an orgasm so maybe there?s some sort of connection too.

It's probably POIS itself.

I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety for many many years by many doctors.  Just recently a psychiatrist diagnosed me with BIPOLAR.  Bipolar is often mistaken for depression by doctors who do not see the full picture.  Ask your doctor about it!

Stress totally messes up hormones. But it seems that relaxing and beeing with the people you love (and avoiding those you dont) can miracolusly set the hormones right in only days!

I think POIS is a consequence of cronic depression. And cronic depression is the cause of POIS. It is a vicious cycle. But treating with medicines do not solve it. I think we have to chance the way we live. It seems impossible but I had some benefits in some periods of my life. When I lived in another city working in another job I did not have POIS and my erection was stronger. Did not heve Precoce ejaculation and backpain too. In my hometown city working in my own business I have too much stress, overload, family issues and POIS is stronger.
My POIS only happens with masturbation. Normal sex does not generate POIS symptoms. My POIS is related to me mood and the health of my cervical spine. Dopamine/Inflammation/Body constitution (genetics) are factors that contribute to POIS.

Wouldn't more people with chronic depression get POIS and such disorders then?

I belive a combination of heavy stress (including depression) and ejaculation is in focus here, but a catalyst might be genetic heredity, diet, enviromental poison (like amalgam or brominated flame retardants, led etcetera) and a sedentary lifestyle. Two or many of those factors must happen simultaneously and during an extended time, but its more difficult to say the weight of each factor.

You think these environmental chemicals might induce POIS?

Well not alone, but chemicals are stressors. I think you have to add at least the ejaculation factor also.

I have physical symptoms of POIS long before I got chronic depression but these symptoms never bother me that much except skins change, but after I have depression, my POIS will worsen my depression and anxiety.

I tried not have orgasm and edging for 3-4 months and I became pretty much normal.

Did you have nocturnal emissions during that time?

I'm sorry to hear that but really its not worth being depressed about it, there are plenty of other girls out there. Also I would recommend you learn how to day game (cold approach) girls as you are in the best country in the world to do it. Because it is not a normal thing to do in Sweden it makes the girl super receptive to being cold approached (they love it) and you won't have to suffer any harsh rejections as Swedish people are so polite. I was in Sweden in september

I dont think chronic depression is directly related to POIS.  Now be warned, some leading/famous docs (that intimately believe in the established medical science) and not familiar with POIS, will much like to caste your POIS into the 'depression bucket'.  So dont fall in that trap.

To give my own example, I am chronically depressed, but I dont have POIS.  POIS does result in certain magnified depressive symptoms, but they are DISTINCT.  Anti-depressants may temporarily "mask" your POIS symptoms, however soon you will realize it is not enough and the 2 are separate beasts.

My 2c, if you need to conquer POIS, try to separate POIS from your many other conditions ailments you may (or maynot) have.  Also dont view things as black/white, on/off, instead view things on a "scale".
POIS Free, 2+ yrs (occasional/predictive lapses)
Pois symptoms: Peripheral (Skin: Urticaria, dryness, pale blotchy skin), Exasperation of: [Nerve weakness, Muscle weakness + Mental (CNS: Brain Fog, Irritation, Isolation, Speech lethargy, Anxiety)].
Other conditions: ASD, ADD, GA

What caused your POIS and how and what you took cured that?

I dont think they are directly related either. But if you go to Nofap reddit or other nofap website, you will see a lot of stories about people quitting masturbate for months and have their depression/anxiety improved or cured and I saw these same stories on my country own nofap websites as well, I experienced the same myself when I dont orgasm for weeks my mind is clearer and less anxious. So I do believe there a connection between orgasm and mental health for people with POIS

I wonder how many NoFappers have POIS but instead think their symptoms are due to PMO itself or something like that and don't know that the Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome exists as a thing and as a diagnosis.
